My DIY timeline at the ALAUSA port office (RENEWAL)

Appointment request date: 16/1/2023
Booked capturing date/time: 2/3/2023 9:00 am
Actual capturing time: 11:52 am

the behind story.
I got all information I needed to apply here in nairaland, I did as instructed and made the payment online. (the total money I paid was #25,300).

on the appointment date, I went with all the required documents which are
1. 2 port photo (any background)
2. original and a photocopy of my NIN slip
3. expired international port
4. evidence of payment
5. renewal application letter (handwritten)
6. photocopy of the data page of the port (front and back)

I got to alausa around 7;20 am on my appointment date and I met two queues outside the office, one left, the other right.
those on the left queue are those that had agent processing for them(they are to check their names and file number on the board outside and proceed inside immediately)

The right queue is for DIY,(note: we had like just fifteen persons on the DIY queue).

They made sure they finished attending to all the people on the left queue(AGENT AIDED). before attending to we DIY'ers.(we no get choice)

an immigration officer came to attend to us on the queue around 9.35 am,she checked our document and directed those that have complete documents to get a file and go inside the premises.we all went uptairs to hustle for where to sit(cos the whole place is already jam-packed).

another immigration officer came to give us number upstair and picked the first five DIY'ers to go downstairs with our files ( I was lucky to be number four).

my file was checked and I was instructed to go print out the payment receipt(the computer lady outside that did that for me collected three hundred naira).

after the printout has been added, my file was treated and I was directed to take it to room 12, another officer went through my file, signed some parts and gave it back to me to return it to the previous official that handled it.

the file was then collected back from us all and we were asked to go back upstairs to go and wait for our names to be called(that was when the waiting game began).

after waiting for like two hours without any show, I decided to stroll out cos I was very hungry, luckily for me, I met an old acquaintance, who now happens to be an immigration officer serving there, I explained my predicament to her, that I have been there for more than four hours.

she was the one that helped me fast-track the whole process and I was captured and left the centre at about 12:20 pm

Note:
if you are a DIY'ers, pls go with a brown file (unless you want to buy just one for #500 there)

after making payment, print out your payment receipt on https://port.immigration.gov.ng/

People should try to avoid Ibadan centre, they're too slow and also nothing like fasting like that. From my little observation some days ago there.

Very very true, I did my interviewand capturing yesterday as DIY, I spoke with a young innocent-looking officer to help me fast track the remaining process ( I have been already informed by the verification officer that ALL port processing takes 3 month DIY or not) the officer told me, anyone that promise me fast track na scam o. Nothing like FastTrack is so rare.
