The candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi, has won the presidential election conducted in Plateau State.

The INEC Collation Officer in the state, Shehu Abdulrahman, announced that the LP candidate scored the highest votes cast in the state to defeat his closest rivals, Bola Tinubu of the All Progressive Congress (APC) and Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic party ( PDP).

According to the collation officer, the LP candidate scored 466,272 votes, PDP candidate scored 243,808 votes while the APC candidate scored 307,195 votes.

Plateau thus s Nasarawa as two states in Northern Nigeria that Peter Obi has won, so far, in the presidential election.

APC actually did some great things for Nigerians in the last 8 years, but we are not ready for that conversation.


There's no way a party that perform 100% poor will be pulling these numbers. Even if you add the figures of the 3 main opposition, the margin is narrow.

Simple. It depends on the voting population of the lga. Some lga's have low population while others are high.
For example, in the US, the republican party will win almost local govt in the state but still lose the election when the vote from the big city is counted.

In plateau, the vote from Jos only can equal about 4-5 smal lga's.

The Returning Officer for the INEC in the election, Ibrahim Muhammad, announced the candidate of the PDP, Garba Maidoki, who polled 75,232 votes to defeat Mr Na’Allah who secure 70,785 votes.
