BrickDevo: If you monitor how the NERC keeps increasing electricity tariff rates, and how we now have inverter ACs, inverter fridges, extremely low power lighting lamps that are as low as 5 to 7 watts but still bright, the increasing dependence on inverters and alternative power supply sources, then you will agree with me that energy efficiency is a thing that is being practiced haphazardly here. If you also monitor how the economy is going down for so many people in Nigeria, then this is one way to make the little money the client has go further. The issue is that if the building owners and building contractors don't tly work on this, anything the building owners do afterwards will be afterthoughts and can never go as far as building the house from the ground up with this in mind. By the way, I took time out to read up the Nigerian BEEC and even posted on it a while ago, there are several useful ideas that every building contractor ought to be familiar with and gradually introduce to their clients. Maybe the problem is that the recommendations therein are just recommendations and not mandatory. Overseas, it is not just a direction, it is often times mandatory. In America, private homes and even commercial facitlites can even be energy star certified. Truth be told the EPA in America has played an outsized role in making this happen. The Federal Ministry of Housing in Nigeria has done well to set up the BEEC but it should collaborate with the Federal Ministry of Environment to make it a thing.

FEGEITOK:Yes they should follow it up and ensure that before drawings are approved that it must be included and afterwards implemented. I must add, your comment wow very very enlightening.... |

bobkezel:You are absolutely spot on. Same also happens when you pay "per bag of cement" for casting concrete. These ogoaja boys with deliberately reduce the quantity of sand and chippings, so they end up using more cement to cast same volume of concrete, hence they get paid more. Paying for the Area covered sort of eliminates that temptation for Artisans to waste materials without cause. |

BrickDevo: In Nigeria the government gives the impression that all they want is to take money from Nigerians. The American example proves that Building Energy Efficiency Codes can keep money in the citizens pocket. This is a direct quote from those screenshots above: Since 1992, ENERGY STAR and its partners have helped American families and businesses save 5 trillion kilowatt-hours of electricity, avoid more than $500 billion in energy costs, and achieve 4 billion metric tons of greenhouse gas reductions. Over the lifetime of the program, every dollar EPA has spent on ENERGY STAR resulted in nearly $350 in energy cost savings for American business and households. In 2020 alone, ENERGY STAR and its partners helped Americans save more than 520 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity and avoid $42 billion in energy costs. So please take it seriously In my next build, this will be considered from the building design stage |

GloriousGbola: This is sole function of 3D secure authentication. But banks are lazy to do their jobs. On the other hand...I read somewhere that banks are struggling to hire IT staff because of japa abroad..wait untill it happens to someone prominent...something will be done. "So many of our very experienced talents, especially in the area of software engineering are either leaving the industry or leaving the country,” Abubakar Suleiman, chief executive officer of Sterling Bank Plc, was quoted as saying at the end of a meeting of bank CEOs. https://www.google.com/amp/s/businessday.ng/amp/banking/article/nigerian-banks-race-to-retain-talent/ |

michlins: SOMETIMES, you dont blame people. my water tank is on my roof which is about the same hieght as the pictures you posted, yet the shower water pressure is low, now it could be a plumbing error or it could be hieght related, but this is common problem for roof mounted tank houses |

Five important reason why paint is very important in your structure. 1.Protection: Painting the exterior of a house can protect it from the elements, such as rain, sun, and wind. This can prolong the life of the building and reduce the need for costly repairs. 2. Curb appeal: A fresh coat of paint can greatly enhance the appearance of a house, making it look more attractive and increasing its curb appeal. 3.Increase property value: A well-maintained and painted house can increase its value and make it more marketable if you decide to sell it. 4.Personalization: Painting the house allows you to customize the look and feel of your home, making it more reflective of your personal style and taste. 5.Preventing rot and pests: paint can help to prevent rot, mold, and pests from damaging the house, thus keeping it looking good and maintaining its integrity. |

Malevonent:check your plumbing. The tank I posted is about 3ft taller than the house |

diordaves: I think its base on preference sha I rather have my visitor tiolet inside d sitting Not basically for visitor You can be in ur living room and you want to urinate...to me it dosnt mak sense going to ur room or going outside And for d foul smell I don't biliv in dat when it's nt public tiolet dats why I have a window cls to mine at the entrance 1 Like |

in the case of having an outdoor event, accessing the toilet by many persons wouldn't be a problem For the above reason...then they have to use the 1 for the shops which is outside the compound So it's all base on how the owner wants it sha just like you said sir |
diordaves(m): 5:08pm On Jan 19, 2023 |
Abbeyb1ack: Your own design no too bad like that. At least your toilet no too dey inside parlour gbam gbam gbam. Your toilet dey one corner and the door no open direct into the parlour. One kind small pretend corridor area separate the toilet from the parlour into which the door opens. This could be acceptable to many people. As for me, I will introduce an entry lounge and put the toilet in the lounge. 2 Likes |

diordaves: I rather have my vt beside the dining just in between the lobby to the rooms. It gives the visitor a sense of belonging and you are leaving a great impression. The VT at the living room is a still okay as long as there's a lobby to close of any four odour but a vt outside is kind of insulting in my opinion. It's like telling a visitor to take your his or her shit outside. If you didn't want him or her in the first place why the invite? 1 Like |

visaclick: I agree with you. Locating the toilet as far as possible from the liveable areas and even outrightly outside is something I don't get. You've said it all. Ushering me as a visitor outside to relief myself is a message that you don't trust me in whatever form beyond your living room. This is sad. Don't let me into your home if you don't trust me. 1 Like |

visaclick: Beside the dinning room really!?Last thing I need is a visitor that has a sense of belonging in my house. It's like building my house and choosing layout and design for the convenience of others ahead of mine. I live for the exact opposite. VT outside the house is not cool but if that's what the owner wants so be it, I'd gladly go outside and take my crap in peace 1 Like |

diordaves:exactly. And again as oga said up comment in the middle of the night when a visitor wants to take a dump how do you now send him outside into the cold to use his toilet over 20fets away? Doesn't seem nice at all. |
