You'd have to look at istrative skills like Data Entry, Content Management and etc

I will advise doing some Google on istrative skills or skills revolving around a platform e.g Wordpress

In addition to what Qtguru said, there is no skill you can “quickly” learn to make money on the current Upwork. Anyone would tell you for free that the competition now is very stiff. The easiest being Data Entry is so saturated and as a Nigerian, you stand no chance when put against a $3/hr Filipino.

As a civil engineer, what do you know how to do?!! Stick to what you know or take the time to develop at least intermediate proficiency in a choice skill.

Internal designers seem to be making a killing

for this you need to learn a quick 3d app
you need to learn rendering
you need to learn post processing
you will also need a powerful pc

you will have challenges with engineering jobs because
1) the profitable ones are american - and americans use a different set of standards - right down to their units of measurement kg vs pounds, metres vs feet, even different symbols

2) a lot of them expect you to be american or state licensed

you can try british and australian as they use the standards we are used to - but you may tey before you break in

there is a potential for project management f you can flip it

an old boss is there and has been telling me to look for American jobs. he says there is a dearth of project managers and i will fit right in.

I am an electrical engineer by training

i have been using sketchup from 2007/2008 to date for 3d modelling.

it is incredibly easy to learn and scale - look on the web and you will find where to pirate it
for rendering all you need is a plugin app

the onus is on you to start and do your own research.

what you need is a computer, an internet connection and determination

if you can use autocad competently, then you can definitely use sketchup

look for internal designers on upwork to get a feel of what is required.

How does the project management works

you are a civil engineer. have you worked on a project before?
a structured project that is being tracked

understand that a level of proficiency and experience is required. how fast you can achieve that will depend on you
but somethings can really only come with real world experience

Still applying for.jobs without any positive outcome yet. The last time I got an interview, we already finalized everything and the client said I should pause, that he will get back to me. When I checked the job posting, he already hired someone else, not giving any reason. I'm still trying though, I rewrote my profile overview yesterday and still designed new samples for my portfolio, I even changed to a professional profile picture. The painful thing is that someone I showed how Upwork works applied for a job and boosted with 40 connects, and she got the job. It's really competitive.

When you're being interviewed - ask questions, research about the client's project and offer brilliant suggestions, and you my friend will be picked always when interviewed

You can't create multiple s brother.

I don't see anything wrong with your and I personally think you can switch to video editing. Just create a specified profile for it.

Good morning all, please what advice would give a newbie. I ed last last year but no gigs yet. I'm into technical writing but I also have a bit of web dev experience to JS level coupled with WordPress though my profile is structured around content development for now.
