Good morning great farmers in the house.
Compliments of the season to us all!

To the point, I keep backyard chickens, they are very attractive looking, healthy, big and juicy. Most times when people come to my place they always ask if they are for sale some will even tease me to dash them one.

The issue is i only see them as my pets. My madam always quarrel with me that I do i find it difficult to slaughter them.

I am planning to slaughter one tomorrow but my mind is not fully made up.

Pls is there a way I can remove this emotional attachment I have for them?

I have over 13 of them! These ones are the ones I could capture in the pix.

Take them to those who help people to kill without touching them yourself if the emotion is too much. Or better still, tell her to take 2 broilers to them to help you kill.

Yes that's what I do most times.
I buy chickens outside for home consumption.
The only thing I consume on a steady is their eggs.

I mean you should take your chickens from your house to go and kill, not buy from outside. Chickens are now very expensive. Why buy when you have enough?

No, that's not the case.
The plan was to go get broilers from the market, so after a second thought I just felt it doesn't make sense wasting money and all.
