you can visit the NPC office in surulere to get a new one if you fall under 93-2000s (it's less than 2500 and i think it will take about 2 weeks to do, you can give them extra money to fast track it)
i hear they give attestation now instead of the certificate. i believe it will still suffice.

I was charged 6500 for the letter of attestation and I have to wait to weeks. Fast track is 10K.

I got my NPC birth certificate for 2000 though and got it same day at Alausa Ikeja, one of those guys at the cafe helped me get it.. just do a new one.. they just need to see that you have the document, that's all

Omo, to get a port in Nigeria is a thug if war all over Nigeria. The long waiting during filling of the form and cross examining documents is no joke. You need to have a good waist, if not, your waist will cake if have no chair to sit.

Thank God, my capturing date is first week of next month. I don't want to go through that stress I went through any time soon. So, I went for the 10yrs port. At least before I will renew that, we should be looking at 2032.

In my case I went there like a week earlier to submit my documents but on the day of capturing, I notice that you can do that on your capturing day. Just make sure that your documents are intact to avoid disappointment. It's not necessary you submit the originals, the photocopies will do.


Lastly, no matter how early you get there some people will be there before you. I got there on 06:50am I was on number 121. I will be there again on November 3 because I have issue to resolve. Oshogbo is one of the commands suitable for DIY because they didnt prejudice me when i met with the officers. And I even used the moment to sensitize the people I met regards the amount I paid and how I did it on my own. They were surprised an wished they can get refund from their agents, lol. Information is life.

My experience at oshogbo office
Got there on my appointment date but captured the next day because their server was down at the early hours. It got better at around 1pm and they tried to attend to the crowd. We stayed till 9:45pm but the server went off again and they had to close. They gave the rest of us number for the next day. The next day was fast and easy.

Observations.... Crowd was much (Lagos and Ibadan people don open eye to oshogbo office )
They will first ask you if it's DIY, they seems not to have issues with it but I know they do with their reaction and moreso I observed that all DIY files were written with red marker (My opinion is that this is their code of separating DIY from assisted applications).

Read the review of dammywapes about Ibadan and decide for urself. I believe Kwara might be better

Firstly you have to apply on-line.throug their official website site.port.immigration.gov.ng.where you will make payment #26000 and book for appointment for capturing.that is all.for relief go to immigration office a day to you capturing to open a file.its very simple in OSOGBO.no wahala FOR DIY

Just go there a day before your capture with your necessary documents like.birth cert,LG identification,NIN SLIP, payment receipt, appointment slip,your data page,and Guarantor form sign by commissioner of oath.all photo copy and original.they will open a file for you then next day you go for capturing.Note;if your file was not taking to capturing office on that day because you are DIY.Dont worry just go to the office where you summit. You file to and request for it.

The way I perceive the situation. There’s a kind of prejudice on this production process. The ladies I’m talking got theirs at six weeks after capturing. I’m looking towards that time frame too before I started raising issue about it. Until then, my fingers are crossed.

You didn't specify if it's renew or a fresh application. However, necessary documents are birth cert,LG identification,NIN SLIP, payment receipt, appointment slip,your data page, 2 port photos

and if you're a new applicant you will include Guarantor form sign by commissioner of oath, if you're applying for a renewal make sure you take along your old port.
Take along all original documents and don't forget to do 2 photocopies.

Get there early and ensure you write your name first. Then go inside to front desk office. There you'll start your journey and told what you need to put in your file.

Maybe they want to have a specific numbers of DIY candidate before they do some mass production

I know of other 3 DIY that captured the same days as I, port isn't ready. If you know a way they could be call out no problem.

Just go for your capturing , you will be attended to from now till a year after your capture date I think.
