In your letter of explanation state clearly that you had a friend assist you with the payment because of scarcity of FX and card limit in Nigeria. Little did you know the payment will be reversed and you don’t mind clearing the payment now as a way of restitution.

Well, few applicants have gone ahead to become successful in their SP application using these colleges in the Atlantic provinces. Despite these schools being good DLIs, they are not as competitive as colleges in the Ontario province for SP applications. If you can, seek ission into UNB instead. Universities in the Atlantic provinces are okay too. However, if you can adequately satisfy the SP requirements, you can decide to consider the mentioned colleges. For recommendation, Ontario colleges are highly competitive.

In the Atlantic province, the college is one of the best but the deposit of CAN$ 500 is non-refundable if the international student could not attend classes due to some unforeseeable circumstances. Don't let the cheap tuition and/or flexible PR routes be the only reasons for wanting to study in the DLI/province. This is sometimes misconstrued by the VOs.

In of program structure and robust curricula, that of colleges in the Atlantic provinces cannot be compared to other provinces, especially Ontario. Most colleges in Ontario will always issue a refund even for deposit payments if an application is denied or a student could not resume classes due to personal reasons like health or the loss of a family member, etc. Any college you chose to attend, ensure you sufficiently justify your reason(s) and meet other SP requirements.

Declaring the use of a paid representative without submitting the IMM 5474e form is now considered a misrepresentation if noticed by chance, which always occurs after a fee payment reversal to IRCC.

Few might have been lucky to escape a ban but some others couldn't. If anybody is in the same mess, say the complete truth without mentioning the use of a paid representative. Only do so, if it was declared from the onset and the IMM form was provided.

Not really, he sent USD not naira so there's no conversion of currency. He was only charged for the transfer.

Form A is usually for people sending naira, so to avoid black market rates they use bank rates.

Good afternoon guys. Please I need urgent assistance and advice. I applied for tourist visa in March 2020 (before the lockdown) through an agent here in Nigeria, and there was no update on the application. So, I applied for study visa in July this year by myself. I have been waiting to get response from the IRCC and I just got a response today, saying there was a request from me (that’s my agent) to my bank that the application fee (my previous application) should be refunded. Now I have to provide valid point in 15 days as to why I requested for the refund and I need to pay the $185CAD. The payment isn’t the problem, but I ed the agent and obviously, he knows about it but claimed he didn’t make the payment from his card, that someone else made the payment for him, and he’s not been able to reach the person.

NOTE: the agent didn’t use the “Use of Representative Form”.

Please, what do I do now?

To be able to adequately respond to the officer's concern in your response letter, request from your paid representative:

• Full name of the payer;

• Relationship to the payer (do not say agent);

• The name and branch address of the financial institution and the type of card used for the payment;

• The individual's full information;

• Did the person notice the reversal, if No, argue on the person's innocence and if yes, when was it noticed and why didn't the person notify you as soon as possible, explain constructively;

• Refer the officer's attention to the reversal date on the page of the individual's bank record to make a sounding statement or argument. The bank record should be attached as evidence. Only the first page and the primary page should be attached;

• other relevant information/etc.


P.S. Try as much as possible to avoid using long sentences and repetitive words. Give clarity to your statements and keep your response letter to a minimum of 3 pages (no rule to this though).

It looks like the guy intentionally reversed the payment and he intentionally wanted to scam IRCC.

I think you should just apologise profusely, say that you weren't aware of the reversal, and attach proof of the new payment. You could also attach proof of the payment for your student visa application and ask them to let you know if there was a reversal for that as well (even though you know that there wasn't).

You may also want to get in touch with someone who has dealt with an issue like this before. Maybe try ing an immigration lawyer. You can also try posting your question on reddit.com/r/ImmigrationCanada and canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board to get different advice, then decide for yourself.

As a mature applicant, it will be wise to include your personal proof of funds, especially if it is not a parent or spouse sponsorship. If it is claimed in your application to have an active business in your country, it will go a long way to help your application if you include one. Though few mature applicants have been successful without providing one, however, personal and family circumstances differ.

To buttress the above point, you can beg the guy who made the payment to send you the screenshot of the payment that has his name. Let them know your friend made the payment not you. That you are sorry you dient know the payment was reversed to his .

Write softly, make another payment, attach it to your LOE and back it up with prayer.

In the case of representative, you can explain that you had already submitted before you ed a rep. Juat apologise that you didnt know you were meant to notify them since you had submitted yourself already

Thanks for sharing bros. Please read the attachment and help me understand better the last paragraph (“and an explanation as to why you did not declare your representative (accompanied with a “Use of Representative” form), if applicable.“) if the use of representative they mentioned here is for my previous application that’s giving me issues now. If so, the agent didn’t mention it so I don’t need to mention it to them. Let it not be that I am confusing it for the new application because what the paid representative in Canada sent to me is “Consent Form”.

And please, what was the outcome for the ones that were not banned?

Get a pre paid dollar card from GTB. It is instant but ensure you have $50 ready to pay in. Tho the limit on the card is $5000 / quarter.
