Lagos is not on the route of the river Benue all the way from Cameroon, the river Niger so it is good.
But I think there is a dam they open in ogun state that floods some boundry areas of Lagos once in a whole.

If Nigeria has used all the energy it spent in championing cow-related issues since the inception of this istration to pursue true national problems like this flooding challenges, maybe things like this will not continue to be a yearly experience for its citizens.

Yes there is flood everywhere but where there is river, ocean near kilometres to your area. You must ensure you request or know level of foundation. Just in my place my foundation is 8ft to 10ft. AGILITI estate , Mile12

You don't need to mention me, because you can't give a clear explanation yourself as to why Cross River & Akwa Ibom States is not affected, &you call yourself analyst, it shows you're a poor Geography student not to understand, that Lagdo Dam is located in Northern part of Cameroon &the water released from the Dam will have effects on States located on the River Niger or River Benue axis the volume of water flows downward to some states in Southeast & Niger-Delta area, NEMA predicted & announced this as at late August & early September, 2022 that flood will affect States around this axis.

You don't even listen to News as well.

God bless akwa ibom governors for proper drainage system. The heavy downpour we had a day be yesterday, nothing would've stopped Nwangiba flooding that particular day. But thanks to our good drainage system. God bless our governors.
it has nothing to do with drainage. Rather dams should have been improvised to solve this issue from ever occurring

Something like this also happened in 2012. Once dam water is released..boom!

Why can't FG quarry Cameroon for releasing Dam water without notice

You are being a crybaby.
Going by this your nonsensical submission, AkwaIbom, Rivers, Calabar, Taraba and perhaps Benue should be several feet under water already. How is Anambra being affected more than those bordering Cameroon?

Guy you are so out of touch with reality. Kogi, Lokoja and a few other locations are suffering from Nigeria's failure or negligence to build its own dam to cushion the effect of water coming from Cameroun and you are there talking town planning. You have issues with listening to global news and comprehending same?

Why can't FG quarry Cameroon for releasing Dam water without notice

There was an understanding that Nigeria will build its own dam to cushion and manage the effect of this disaster. Nigeria never did build its own portion of the dam. So what moral right does Nigeria have to query Cameroun knowing that as a country it is already in breach of ...

Stop giving your jobs to quacks who has nothing to add to your ideas. They will just start digging anyhow and anywhere. Building on flood plains and water ways is dangerous.

You are a moro.n... You do not have his kind of money, you are on nairaland throwing opinions without knowing the real reason for the flood.

Ode, over 18 states have been affected because of water released from the Cameroon dam... and your Buhari stopped a project initiated in 1982 after he overthrew the regime that started it and that could have helped prevent this menace.

Fool thinks he has a opinion. if e easy, why you no build your own mansion.

Bros, you really have time to argue with mumu people ooooh. People who have no reasoning faculty of their own.

Today, if Tinubu tells that Calabar Town is flooded by the water released from the dam, they will believe and start parroting it.

who has that meme of "FOR YOU TO BECOME A MEMBER OF APC?"

These are the kind of people who want to convince people to vote for Tinubu. grin grin grin

It has everything to do with improper town planning, especially when it's happening in the East. Eastern Nigeria has nothing to do with flood this much. Look at Delta State, the areas mostly affected by the overflow of river Niger are used for farming and not for habitation.
Unless the excessive overflow of the river basin as it is currently. Isn't South East landlocked on norms?
A lot of cities in Europe also suffered from flooding early this year England, , etc
Town planning can't do anything about it.

cheesy i wasn't arguing with him at all cos it seem he is misinformed, I tried to let some people who cares know, apart from climate changes, other factors such as Lagdo Dam water release will also affect states in Nigeria as announced by NEMA &Nigerian Meteorological Agency, I am from Oron, a town along the Cross River estuary in Akwa Ibom State, it takes a couple of hours or more to land in Ideana, Camerron via Speedboat, a local Port in Southern Cameroon off Atlantic Ocean &my place is not affected by the flood cos where the Dam is located, is up North Cameroon which shares boundaries with Benue, Taraba, Adamawa states.

Infact the highest point, Obudu in Cross River State which is even closer by land to the Central& a bit Northern Cameroon is not affected that much probably, the mountainous nature of the Obudu, Ogoja &Obanliku axis of Cross River State, 5hours or more away from Calabar, the State Capital. Those axis i mentioned is up Northern Cross River State, they shares land boundaries with Benue State.

grin Anambra is not entirely landlocked, they have River Niger Port by Onitsha, River Anambra which has its tributary off River Niger flows into the hinterlands.
Meaning the State is accessible by Water, Land &Air.

this is exactly what people fail to understand. The flood is a result of letting out water from the dam.
