I ordered a $93 product yesterday, here's what I did.

I messaged the seller telling him about the maximum transaction limit my card can process. I told him to split the payment so I can use multiple cards to pay.

Splitting the payment, we will have $20 in four places and $13 as the last and now I can pay with 5 ATM cards.

Please what are the things you looked out for to be sure you are not dealing with a scammer.

And what shipping company did you opt for that gives you peace that you would get the item?

I'm a newbie trying to learn before falling a victim.

I have ordered little items and got them via Nipost.
But reading stories of how valuable items get missing on reaching Nigeria, I am scared of buying anything above 10k.

Please what are the things I must and must not do in other to get whatever item I order??

2. Reviews with pictures: I prefer sellers with reviews that previous buyers included pictures.

3. Number of followers the seller has and their store ratings.

4. Check the review section to see if someone from your country has ordered from the seller; what was their ?

5. Chat with the seller too. If they're real, they will reply you; not immediately, but they will reply you. If you get a reply immediately, doubt them.

Please i order for two packages from diff store,the first package I use standard shipping and the second package I use free shipping which is the global economy.i was given a tracking number for both (speedaf) so today I just get update on my mail that my package have been combined and the both package are now using same tracking number which is the one of the standard shipping..abeg hope say problem no dy . thanks

Any shipment is good by me; either free or paid. Your package not being delivered by Nipost depends on the people working in the Nipost branch in your local government.

The only time I've ever experienced delay was when I ordered ear buds for my roommate in Ibadan. Those Nipost guys delayed my package for 71 good days but I later got it.

If you're scared about tracking unavailable for free shipping, opt in for AliExpress standard shipping.

Stolen/extraction of items is possible but not always from NIPOST. Could be before arriving Nigeria, could be at IMPC/NCS, and NIPOST staff too.

Custom charges has nothing to do with NIPOST.

Quote me please. I said "doubt" and not "don't patronise". Besides, he's a new customer on AliExpress and why shouldn't he go to an extreme extent to get his first order delivered?

I only gave him those tips since he's a new customer there. With time, he'll soon learn how to buy things safer.

P.S: That AliExpress gives you the opportunity to file dispute doesn't mean you'll get your money back in all cases. May we not have an experience to file such dispute.

The things I buy these days don't even require me to check ratings. I can only hope the seller is able to split payment

Good tip though to check, just that I pity any seller selling fake items as I always win in dispute, at least so far

I saw very great review on an item I wanted to buy the other day, I noticed all the reviews were given same day from same country It turned out seller na scam using fake reviews to boost their store's rating.

Sellers go to great lengths to make that sale, me too goes to great length to ensure you no chop my money should you sell me a dud.
