I wonder why people don't seem to get d point of these taxes,in how many advanced countries do you see posters been pasted all over the place without regulations,at least he did not bann pasting of posters or banners ,but if you must paste ,then you must pay for it and also get it off the wall or wherever you mounted d banner once your time expires ,in doing this ,it will save d state from mischievous posting of posters and banners ...this is just a strategy to keep d state clean ,note ..that he didn't force anyone to paste posters or banners thereby extorting them ,or he did not bann d pasting of posters or banners ,thereby denying citizen there right to communication ..and he made it clear that d signs leading to d event place will not b charged for ..I think he is in order ..

Na réal wah for Nigérians. We want a society with a system that works , but we don’t want to put in the works. We want it to magically appear. Tell me, where in the developed world do people paste posters of burial all over the place ? For those who live abroad, you all know that the system works over there because the citizens pay tax. It’s high time we stopped criticizing those who understand the assignment and them. This tax is not compulsory you know. Just don’t paste posters and you have nothing to worry about. Thanks Before I forget, banners are a form of advertising and is paid to the government irrespective of what is written on the banner or posters 1 Like |

You're on point, from the comments on this thread, it's very obvious that most ibos, especially those residing in the east have a serious problem with their mindset, they believe their brains were designed for basic automated functions only, critical thinking and analysis is a magic ability to them. The governor is trying to reduce the expenses they incure during ceremonies by helping them cut out unnecessary things they spend on and they're complaining, they want their state to be world class. How many top cities have they traveled to and their roads and streets are defaced with tattered posters and banners. It's these same set of people that believe they should take loans in millions to conduct a lavish burial for the purpose of showing off and fulfilling obsolete and valueless traditional rites at expense of their progress. Majority of ibos mostly the S.E dwellers need to have a paradigm shift in their mentality if they really want to progress in other areas of life apart from wealth generation. jojothaiv: 1 Like 1 Share |

Let the jamboree reduce. Too much for burial and other programs, as if we are in for competition.

Don't mind them, they can't use this same energy to face the elders and traditions that fleece them off their resources because of burial ceremonies. Buliwyf: 1 Like |

Anambra people are not ready for positive change, they think the governor will just blow a magic powder into the air, and tada! Anambra will become Johannesburg.

This is a welcomed development. It will improve Anambra's beauty. Another area that should be punished is unruly waste disposal. Neatness should be instilled into students/ pupils even in schools. The government should also improved their waste disposal system. For a better Nigeria |
