NL1960: Even when you have the 50m it's always advisable to go with the bank rate to avoid any disappointment. |

Dogzoneng:Okay, every bank (commercial) have their own policy). But it has gone up again though. |

Dogzoneng: For TB, UBA, Zenith and one other bank I think Fidelity or so from my experience have always been problem banks. For first Bank, any branch should solve the TB issue. However, back then the easiest way I get the most authentic info or get things done easily is to go to their main branch ( In Abuja it's in Commassie House, CBD) or mail/call First . From there they will give you info and probably direct you on how to go about it. If any branch tells you anything contrary it's either you let them know that's not what First said or you stay in the branch there and report back your findings. You can try Stanbic IBTC and see if you have an there. It has always been easier with them. Also, Standard Charted Bank. Here you can place your bid for either Bond or TB by yourself from to their mobile app and it will be honoured. |

emmasoft: Yes o. Even before the N50m minimum amount, i never went with my own rate. I always said that the bank should use their own rate to bid for me. They are in the sector. So they should know better than me. There is a saying 'over skill dey kill monkey'. ![]() ![]() 1 Like |

However, most of the things needed can be done through their app without ing them anybody. You can the bank by mail or Google their number and call the bank will link you up with their asset management. |

freeman67: I am looking at their MMF. I just left their app now. I clicked on the mutual fund button on the app and tried their registration process. I got to where you will fill in an amount, typed the amount I'd want to invest but it popped up an info that the amount shouldn't be more than 20k. Then i left the app. |

choo: That's one area I haven't tried before. However, the money area should not even be the problem because you can open it with just 5k which is what I will do if I were in your shoes because it's easier to top up when the is set. What you should be concerned about is the availability of scanned copies of your ID ( Any bank acceptable one/NIN), Your KYC document/ prove of addressed ( like utility; Electricity or Water) bills or rent receipts and be sure it tallies with the address you are presenting and your port that will required as usual to complete the process. I think with the above set, you can complete the process. What I do majorly on the app majorly is; 1. Redeem my funds when I need them. Most times I see my funds same day so long as I do it before twelve. 2. Monitor my s to see if my Top up/ Deposit is credited. Most times I fund my through transfers as the main platform for transfer seem to be incur more charges than transfer. 3. I also request for Statement if I have the need through app. Then set / reset my security question and answer; and my . 1 Like |

High MPR Better for Money market and fixed income instrument With the MPR at 15.5% and as a conservative investor, the coral money market fund CMMF managed by FSDH will be your best bet. The rate is currently at 11.27% even before the hike in MPR so expect higher returns going forward. Click the link on my signature or call/chat me up to open CMMF for free. |

emmasoft: Whats the implication of this news, does it mean that 15.5% would be the benchmark or should I say minimum interest rate, henceforth......... |

What will be the effect of the MPR increase to treasury bills?

emmasoft(m): 7:45am On Sep 28, 2022 |
zamirikpo: 15.5% now becomes like a yardstick for the measurement of interest rates on all money markets and fixed income instruments. Most fund managers will want to have rates equal to or more than MPR. The ultimate however is to beat the inflation rate which is almost near impossible but having a higher rate is better than just leaving cash to stay idle without investing it. The hike will definitely cause much activities in the fixed income and money market segment. While it's a piece of good news for funds, tbills, bonds etc it's the opposite for the equity, particularly traders and in the short term. On the long term, ie for the high risk tolerance investors it's actually a good opportunity for the accumulation of good stocks with very higher dividend yields. 6 Likes |

zamirikpo: how did u expect them to bring it down when it’s not even correlated to inflation rate, they re likely to increase it more but the oversubscription chasing the offer is worrying |
Olaide1295: 5:40pm On Sep 29, 2022 |
juniorrate: TB rates have moved up to 12%. Even if they left it at 6-10%, the 1 years bills will still get oversubscribed by pension funds and banks. Pension funds have limited options to mop up all that liquidity. 5 Likes |
