As much as I would give this istration a mark for their infrastructural strides we must also not forget the premise of this istration when they came into power in 2015 which was to tackle insecurity, develop a robust economy and reduce corruption!
Today what are we witnessing in this istration?
Insecurity has been amplified and now a threat to the same infrastructures that the istration is embarking on!
The highest point and the most embarrassing of insecurity in our country was when a group of terrorists braggadocios style bounced into abuja unchallenged or unseen by any security force, broke into kuje prison and released their fellow terrorists.....just to show the porousness of our security system, they even had time to pray before leaving the prison in what should be one of the safest cities in the country!
What about the economy after almost 8 years of this istration?
The fact that Nigeria remains the only OPEC country that still imports fuel, diesel and aviation products is a testament of how our economy has nosedived!
What about electricity?
No month es by without witnessing a national grid collapse!
Same istration that promised 3 million jobs in a year but the unemployment rate has increased to 33% 'officially'!
The istration had initially resorted to first blaming the former istration, before blaming covid19 pandemic and now the Ukraine/Russia war for our inability to achieve the robust economy that they wanted!
The naira performance against the dollar is another humongous issue that once again puts the incompetence of the president and his ministers on the spotlight!
What about the plan to end corruption in this istration?
The highlight of the istration's corruption fight will not be complete without mentioning a man that should have retired from civil service but was surprisingly brought back by the president and supervised the alleged stealing of over a 100 billion of which some were used in acquiring properties all over the country!
At the end of the day, everyone can agree that the current president has done his 'best' based on his ability but this is clearly not good enough!
Please, stop mongering negativity. This thread isnt for that. We are all celebrating a beautiful piece of infrstructure.

1. “Buhari is a failure,” but please who has done more roads and bridges than this Gov’t since the coming of democracy in 1999?
Let’s deal with facts as we move on…
2. “Buhari is a failure,” but can you tell me any istration that has done more housing projects since 1999 than this Gov’t?

3. “Buhari is a failure,” but before Buhari, Boko Haram was having a caliphate in Borno. You needed scanners to screen people in banks and churches. Suicide bombing was a norm, is it still the same today? The NW & NC won’t be different, they will collect too.
Considerable success has been made in the North-East as a whole, & even the blind knows that, except the ‘politically blind’. Nothing is insurmountable, we will win in the NW & NC to either now or the next .
But PMB has laid that foundation already with arms acquisition.
4. “Buhari is a failure,” but there was a time in this country when the farmers-herders clash became a National problem and a clout-chasing topic. But this same “failed” Gov’t designed the NLTP, and today, has that not been minimized? Why are we not talking about this?
5. “Buhari is a failure,” but since the time of the military days, no President has equipped the Army, Airforce, and Navy simultaneously like this istration. It is a fact!

6. “Buhari is a failure,” but how many cancer centers were in Nigeria before this failure came, and how many do we have now? Lagos, Umuahia, and Kano have world-class Cancer Centers today.
How do you measure failure?
7. “Buhari is a failure,” but since the war that ended in 1970, it took this failure to recognize the Biafra Army and Police who fought during that war, and even pay their pension and emoluments accrued to them all these years.
Failure?
8. “Buhari is a failure,” but it took the ‘failure’ to build the Zik Mausoleum after years of neglect; recognizing M.K.O Abiola as a President that he should have been, & awarding him all that is due to him as an ex-President, and even declaring June 12, our democracy day.
9. “Buhari is a failure,” but this failure has brought reforms into the Governance system like implementing IPPIS and TSA for more ability, even when these 2 have been existing for years before this Gov’t.
10. “Buhari is a failure,” for having a “rubber stamp” NASS that has ed more important bills that affects the life of every Nigerian than any Gov’t or NASS has ever done in Nigeria. Every bill has been a huge reform in all sectors — from Energy to electoral reforms.
11. “Buhari is a failure,” for paying pensioners your “letter writer” & his Vice sold the companies they were working & forced to quit their jobs with no emolument whatsoever.
Go & tell the workers of ALSCON, Delta Steel, NICON, Nigeria Airways, NAHCO, etc that Buhari failed na.
12. “Buhari is a failure,” but we were only having an unfinished Abuja-Kaduna rail when he took over — he finished it. Now, we have Lagos-Ibadan, Warri-Itakpe, PH-Maiduguri (under construction), Kaduna-Kano (under construction), and he’s a failure. Issokay!
13. “Buhari is a failure,” but where was ProForce, DICON, NAVMC? While DICON was existing, what were they producing? Today, we have these companies bringing our hardware for our military like never seen before in this country — and Buhari has taken us back to 1900?
If the environment was not created, or Buhari failed, will ProForce be in Nigeria today? Why didn’t they come to Nigeria when Nigeria was in 2050? Would Innoson have been producing parts for our military today? “Buhari failed” kee u dia!
14. “Buhari is a failure,” but what was the state of our General and Specialist hospitals before this Gov’t came? This Gov’t has not only digitalized them, but they have also renovated and equipped many. Didn’t we see videos where people’s parents looted money for hospital equipment?
Are they the Gov’t?
The children of the CMD of that hospital in PH and his cohorts that were trying to divert the N900mn Gov’t intervention, are also here calling their “father” a failure. Hypocrites!
15. “Buhari is a failure,” but before he came, I celebrities doing videos to mock our Int’l airport. In one instance, 2face did a video at the Kotoka Int’l Airport to mock We’ve all forgotten all that today, because “Buhari has taken us to 1896” with better airports.
16. “Buhari is a failure,” but he fought the DISCOS your ‘crooked’ lovers sold our electricity to, and today we are having our DISCOS back one after the other, while the SIEMENS deal is bringing that much-needed electricity we’ve been yearning for all these years.
It’s real, it’s verifiable. If that is what failure looks like, I want to be a failure every day.
17. “Buhari is a failure,” but before this Gov’t, piracy on our waters was alarming. Insurance on goods from abroad was in the thousands of $$. This Gov’t investment in our NAVY & NIMASA simultaneously has made our waters one of the safest in the world today. Is this failure?
18. “Buhari is a failure,” but his Gov’t has promoted “Made in Nigeria” goods more than any since 1999. Executive Order was even signed to that effect, & today the benefit can only be well put in words by our farmers (grains & livestock), and manufacturers (Innoson, Nord, etc). Failure?
19. “Buhari is a failure,” but his Gov’t was the first to give some Universities an uninterrupted power supply by providing them with solar electricity. BUK—Kano, FUAM—Makurdi, UDUS—Sokoto, FUNAI—Ebonyi, and UniMAID (almost completed). Do you call this failure?
20. “Buhari is a failure,” but we only had an Apapa & TinCan port before he came — today, Onne & Calabar ports are receiving cargos under his istration. Onitsha Port has just been concessioned. Let’s not even talk about the State ports coming up, like Lekki, Badagry & Ibom.
Are we back to 1924?
“Buhari is a failure,” but before this ‘failure,’ nobody was bold enough to establish a refinery in Nigeria. The common modular refinery, how many were in Nigeria before this ‘failure’ came? We have modular refineries in Imo, Bayelsa, Edo, and even Delta now.
Dangote and BUA are building refineries, while the PH refinery is being totally turned into a brand new one, but Buhari failed, and Nigeria is now in 1740.
What is your definition of failure? How has not being able to end insecurity turned to failure? How has inflation which is a global phenomenon become the indices to measure failure? Can the Gov’t do better economically and security-wise? Of course, they can.
Can only 1 Gov’t solve the whole problem in Nigeria? No, of course not. But we must look at where we were coming from, the available resources then and now, and the pandemic and global economic downturn should be factored in too if you’re being open-minded.
Insecurity can never end in society, they come in different ways, the only thing is to have a Gov’t that can respond to them as they come.
This Gov’t has done its best and we must acknowledge that, while also pointing out where they didn’t meet expectations. Using blanket statements like “Buhari has failed” is trying to be politically blind and deaf. Yes, I said it!
Buhari will hand the baton over to Tinubu and he will continue from where Buhari stopped and conclude the race to perfection.
Honestly if not for the Muslim Muslim ticket APC is flying u just got my vote with this wonderful write up. Even though you did not even include the second Niger bridge. This is what we want on Nairaland . Good brains like your good self. Well done.

APC out classes PDP in of infrastructure . Rail , roads ,bridges plus improved power supply that happened recently.
With lesser oil revenue , pandemic and corruption APC still out do PDP . PDP really wasted 16 years of Nigerians.
APC deserves another 8 years so Nigerians can see the clearer picture .
On insecurity APC has failed just like PDP.
Majority of Nigerians are not enlightened they don’t even know if oil price fall it’ll affect the Naira as oil is the major source of revenue. All they’ll tell you is that naira is weaken .
When the national Grid collapsed yesterday people were happy , but as at last week when a thread was opened about improved power they said it’s because of election. And these people are so called Christians who go to church every Sunday but bad mouth their country and wish her bad .
The more you wish your country bad it’ll remain BAD.
The only thing I’m impressed about this present youth is that they’ve put politicians on their toes via social media.
I Another 8yrs for APC They should focus on security, diversifying the economy, reconstruction and continue the momentum on infrastructure and power everything will be good its a gradual process .
We don’t want a Perceived angel Who Will Come and scatter everything. I like the continuation in progressive change in Lagos I need that in Nigeria .
If you know you can’t wait for the progressive change in Nigeria due to age factor you’re free to JAKPA , you can still contribute to the economy outside the shores of the country but the country is gradually moving if you look inward .
There’s know where in the world today that there’s no inflation , flood or a slight shift of improved standard of living . But you’ll see Nigerians always castigating but they can’t keep common traffic laws, and litter the drainages with dirts it’s a really big shame .
The only reason why advanced counties manage to cope is because of the progressive good governance they’ve had in the past that planed in contingencies like this . But Nigeria has been wrecked with bad leadership for over 30 years. It’s not rocket science that it’ll only take time to recover .
Nigeria can only be Grate with positive mindset from both government and the citizens.

I already know that one sef....I was laughing when APC claimed it was their project!
Its this particular bridge that I wasn't aware of!
Cos I was wondering how an istration that keeps complaining that they have no funds even when crude oil is hovering around 100 dollars per barrel to now miraculously have the funds to finish and complete this kind of capital intensive project!
Its always amusing how they dive to claim projects that they didn't even conceive or start but when they are shown the negatives of their istration, they instantly say it was because of the past government!

The light issue thing tire me o.
The same people that used the collapse of the national grid to mock and criticize FG said the reason for the improved power was due to election. Some said it's cos of raining season. I began to wonder if it wasn't the same election period the grid collapsed in or this is the first time Nigeria has experienced raining season.
Some even said the reason for the strike is because FG were trying to keep students away from voting.
Everybody just dey spew conspiracy theories left right and center.
Let's hope they don't say this bridge was supposed to be higher for ships to under but Buhari made it low so that Benue wouldn't have a seaport.
