When People Say That The Bible Was A Weapon In The Hands Of Colonialists, what do they mean? You may have made the assertion that Christianity is/was a religion used by the Whites, the imperial Europe in this regard, to abbett colonialism in Africa. I have a lot in view, but what does that mean to You? |

lomprico: Everything was used as a weapon by those Invading Sons of evil. |

Authority1o1: Jesus prophesied that after the death of his apostles, impostors would overrun the congregation and they wouldn’t treat the flock kindly(which indeed occurred after the first century) Matthew 13:24-30, see also Acts 20:29-30, 2Peter 2:1 These set of persons brought in all sorts of apostate teachings and practices of demons (1Timothy 4:1) e.g. Trinity, Christmas, hellfire and so on. In the hands of the weeds(these false Christians), the Bible was used as a tool for domination and colonialism. In the hands of the wheats(true Christians), the Bible today is being used properly as a tool for building up a person’s life! Hebrews 4:12, 2Timothy 3:16-17 1 Like 1 Share |

DappaD: I deduce that you refer to an already-written bible of an already-established religion. At least, if I'm correct, you understand that in contrast to what many believe, neither Christianity nor the Bible were formulated by Whites to help them subdue Africa. It's very sickening to keep on coming across the "White-man-religion" and "Bible-was-written-by-Whites-for-the-purpose-of-mental-subduction-of-their-colonies" mantras. Or do you align with the thought? 1 Like 1 Share |

lomprico:It wasn't, to me fulfillment in Bible prophecies and it's accuracy when in touches scientific matters even science didn't discover them proves it that the Bible was and is never a weapon |

paltielx: Read or research about the history of spread of christianity, you will see. I'm not saying the bible is evil, it's that some people used/use it for committing evil. |

ikechukz: And be very happy, eating healthy meals to my fill, sleeping safely in my own House, having my family all around, working because it is cool and resting because it is too hot to work. And in the evening, after a full belly, playing until tired of play. Life was very very much better than today. 3 Likes 1 Share |

lomprico:If the European can overcome the so call weapon of the Bible and enjoys technological advancements, what prevents the African from doing the same. To me the problem with us is that, illiteracy and greed prevent us from speaking the truth in the Bible |
lomprico(m): 12:44pm On Oct 24, 2021 |
paltielx: No, it's not like that. they know that they were using it to conquer, enslave and brainwash and they achieved that. the case of Africa is inferiority complex and greed. |
paltielx: 12:51pm On Oct 24, 2021 |
lomprico:Well whatever I don't see the Bible as a weapon, the truth in it as mentioned in John 8:32 set people like me from enslavement of demonic believe and culture, deceptions by religious leaders, and even the knowledge as to what we are doing in the earth today |

Authority1o1: Christianity was established by Jesus Christ in the first century(Matthew 28:19-20) and after the first century C.E., Christianity lost its meaning throughout the Dark Ages when Catholicism and Protestantism became the order not until the last days in which we find ourselves that true Christianity has again come to the fore as the wheats have been separated from the weeds. Matthew 13:30 The point of my previous post was to let you understand that those white men who used force to spread their teachings in Africa were not Christians but were the ravenous wolves who would infiltrate the Christian congregation, the ones that the apostles Paul and Peter talked about. Acts 20:29-30, 2Peter 2:1 |

paltielx: you don't get the point OP was saying. the bible was used as a weapon in the hands of some people! |

DappaD: I ire the turn this is taking. But of a truth, I know part of what your point is before now. I believe any true christian who have made a with the Spiritual would be convinced that it's beyond politics or scheme. Nevertheless, I'm quite ruffled by this: ...those white men who used force to spread their teachings in Africa were not Christians but were the ravenous wolves who would infiltrate the Christian congregation... By 'those', do you make a reference to a particular set, or all? |
DappaD: 2:14pm On Oct 24, 2021 |
Authority1o1: ALL. As long as force was used, we can’t say that it was Christianity that was being propagated. Need reasons why? |

paltielx: So, your line of argument is that the Bible is scientifically accurate, and that that scientific consistency means that it wasn't possibly written by the new-age invading colonialists. And to add to your position, the ancient manuscripts and codices which were the foundation of the bible make it impossible to agree that it was written by them to serve as a weapon in their hands, right? But, do you think that it nullifies the belief that it was a weapon in their hands? |
lomprico(m): 3:14pm On Oct 24, 2021 |
paltielx: if a clergy does something bad or wrong and you point out what he did wrong, and he goes on to tell you 'judge not' he is using the bible as a weapon to defend his bad ways. the Europeans used bible ages to justify the slave trades. thus using it as a weapon. the crusaders spread the Gospel through wars and invasion, justifying their acts with bible ages. that's what weaponising the bible is like according to what OP is asking. Also, spiritually it's also used as a weapon against forces of evil. which is a good thing. |
Authority1o1(m): 3:24pm On Oct 24, 2021 |
lomprico: Did the colonialists have Christianity as their religion before their various invasions, or did they find themselves lucky to have a new book which they might have looked upon in glee, knowing that such discovery can propel their expeditions? If you answer in the negative, did they use those ages that seemingly slavery because of what they wanted to achieve? And again, must they have sincerely thought that those ages actually ed slavery, or did they make their colonies understand it to be so? If they had wanted their colonies to accept slavery as permissible, don't you think other means other than the bible could have been used? If not, were they simply ignorant in all sincerity to these things? |

DappaD: Intriguing. Even the missionaries among them who came for evangelical purposes? And by force, do you hint that not all of them who came made use of force? Does that singular attribute differentiate a percentage from all, or all as you highlighted. |

Authority1o1: the manipulations started during the time of the crusaders so during colonialism and slave trade they adopted the tactic. |
DappaD: 5:58pm On Oct 24, 2021 |
Authority1o1: They didn’t employ the subtle methods which the apostles Paul did in taking the good news to the nations. So in order to penetrate into some lands, these so-called missionaries intermingled with colonial masters which is not what Jesus or Paul or any other Christian in the first century did. The first century Christians didn’t have friends in authority and that was the reason they were severely persecuted(Acts 12:1), so where does forming friendships and alliances with the political powers leave these so-called missionaries ? James 4:4 |
MaxInDHouse(m): 6:56pm On Oct 24, 2021 |
Authority1o1: True Christianity that Jesus established has nothing to do with forceful indoctrination. So even when there are some missionaries who aren't using force, the end result is they will ask new converts to those using force as co-worshipers and that means they're also part of that system. In a nutshell all religious gatherings having anything to do with politicians is Antichrist, that is the reason why they can't truly be called Christians because Jesus stayed clear away from politics and he warned his followers not to participate in politics as that will make them take sides which will not make the bond he prayed for {John 17:22} manifest in their midst! John 13:34-35 Today the world is filled with hatred spurred by racism only one religion is able to eradicate RACISM and POLITICS in their midst, of course that one is the only Christian group! ![]() |

Authority1o1: Sickening indeed, considering Jesus according to the flesh was Jewish, not British or white. The true story of Christian mission work from Europe to Africa is an incredible story of love and sacrifice. |
caye(m): 6:42pm On Aug 04, 2022 |
Joshthefirst: They came in that order: 1. First , the lone explorer 2. Followed by the missionary and his Bible 3. Then the traders 4. Finally, the soldiers, guns and cannons. One King in Ethiopia said,' let's move fast to the guns and cannon" , when he noticed the white infiltration. |
