Yes it is a point based system but when the ECO sense that the applicant doesn't have real study intentions then they might reject it. This is the reason why many universities conduct pre-cas interviews because many applicant just use the student visa to enter the UK without the intention to study.

Feels some how that she wasn't given an opportunity to appeal the refusal of the visit visa. would've been great if you share the letter here cos there may be more than we know in it.

1. The letter said that she had no right to appeal the refusal so, there was no way to do an istrative review. It's her mother who wrote the invitation letter. Her mother is settled and even has a nice 3-bed apartment in London. I thought the student visa route is a point-based system. Is it possible to be rejected because the ECO feels like you want to settle in the UK?

2. She explained the oversight in her application form when they asked "why were you refused?". She doesn't feel the need to write the cover letter in order to reduce too much documentation wahala. She feels like the explanation she gave in the application form is sufficient.

3. The deposits were in 2019 and it's usually a common reason for refusal. She doesn't even have access to the investment company's anymore so there's no need to open old wounds and start deep investigations on her profile.

The safest way is to get (trusted) someone in your school, send the money to him/her. He'll pay for the deposit on your behalf, once the school confirms the payment, an e-receipt will be issued to you and that's what you'll use when filling your CAS.

But if you do not have anyone to do that, then you can use any other available option

My husband (MA) was debited for form A - flywire on Wednesday (5 days ago) . He did the form A application with Access bank in May and got debited in July at the rate of 526 Naira . It is well. His school is UNIVERSITY of SALFORD , we are awaiting unconditional offer and CAS

I would suggest your husband get proof of funds ready cos University of Salford requires you to 28days proof of funds to get CAS

Next steps says I should pay 4k tuition deposit (paid already) and provide evidence of maintenance funds to the school. My POF will be 28 days old on August 9. Can I submit POF before it clocks 28 days old or wait till day 28( Aug 9)?

Deadline to meet all requirements is Aug 22

No. Wait 28 days cos it's the exact pof submitted for cas you are submitting to ukvi as long as the statement is not more than 30 days

I think it makes the journey much longer, having to land first in Nairobi before taking off to London, Ethiopian airline, Egypt Air and Royal Air Maroc should be preferred. Not forgetting Qatar Air though in a class of it's own as well as Turkish Air.

So an agent applied for a visitor's visa for me last month and while reviewing the application, and comparing it with this student visa, I noticed that he didn't list this particular visa rejection. I told him about it and he said it's insignificant to the student visa application and should be discountenanced.

He also said I need to be careful to ensure that everything I write for the student visa application matches what I have for the visitor's own. I'm quite confused

You are using the same agent that failed in getting you a visit visa now you're not sure what to do.

All the universities in the UK are shut for September.
Do not embark on a journey that would make you lose your POF & TB Test money.
Your best is to wait till January, and entries are opened for that.
