ogododo: Nigeria's apex political leaders are selected from the group of most poorly educated people, so they couldn't trust Nigerians to do the job Julius Berger is doing. 3 Likes |

Julius Berger is very poor at managing traffic while handling the construction of that highway. RCC is much better 1 Like |

Raysleek: Too shameful, for they( Julius Berger) were not like this before but have swallowed up Nigeria virus of non-challant attitude, which they could not do in ,UK, USA and even China- without a backlash! In China 1.3Billion Citizens,- you steal/ defraud/ corrupt the State, you are executed without delay but here in Nigeria,we are very big men- doing evil and rubbing it over the Masses! Eriokanmi: Julius Berger is not overated.. Not sure how old you are but JB have built amazing structures in the country for decades. What you have to question are the stiff bribes they have to pay back plus wasn't there any representative from the department of works available to inspect the job ? |
rickleye: 2:10pm On Jul 15, 2022 |
ajayiopy: Exactly and thanks for shouting !!! They have received kickbacks and built it as they the client ( Nigeria) requested. |
rickleye: 2:13pm On Jul 15, 2022 |
quentin06:This is true but also the kickbacks were not as stiff as they are now. |

rickleye:I wouldn't tell you hold old . But I was much conscious when 3rd mainland bridge was commissioned. JB of those days of amazing infrastructure you mentioned isn't same JB of today. They're not so strong as they used to be. I've seen roads constructed by them which was redone in less than 2 decades after it was constructed. Lagos-abeokuta Expressway is a good example, which They're now reconstructing with skukuk funds. That road was started by same JB in 2005 and finished in 2007 from abule egba down to sango-ota. They've compromised greatly. In the 80s, if they bidded for a contract and they were being offered less, they'd not do the job cos they wanted to maintain the quality standards. Over the years, thousands of civil engineers produced by our unis were supposed to improve on JB's weaknesses? What were the indigenous companies doing? What of our civil engineers? 2 Likes |

Eriokanmi: Apologies, did not mean to make it personal with the age. Yes you are correct JB of the 90's isn't the same of now but is it because they employed local indigenes to take over or the engineers they recruited from are worth their stuff. I think you have hit the nail on the head. They have shifted their mindset and are cutting corners in order to afford the kickbacks they have to make. So they either have good uncompleted jobs or they complete the jobs with shoddy work. They may be complacent but someone signed off that the job was completed to satisfaction from public and works or whatever local parastatal is in charge. |

The supervisor in charge of the Lagos-Sagamu section of the expressway, Wale Adebote, said he was not aware of the damaged bridge. Negligence of the highest order... Imagine the kind of responses coming from the so called good for nothing project supervisor in charge? 1 Like |

I think the expansion ts were poorly designed and executed. It should be corrected by the contractor please, before a serious problem emanate from there. Cheers to you all |

Maxymilliano: The Federal Controller said he will send contractors. What can we learn from this? JB may have been the contractor for constructing the bridge only... and incompetent local contractors responsible for maintenance. Since when does water wash away tar? No doubt... JB knows what it takes to smoothly cover the ts but the contractor don't. I'm almost sure NB is not responsible for maintenance. |

Cognitivereason:oga, have you ed the other stretch handled by the Chinese company ? There are no complaints about that. Only Julius Berger own has issues. Before you respond, note that I through this road daily. So I will show you proof of you need. |

Bluntemperor:The thing tire me my brother, I'm perplexed. They saw this article and have starting hurriedly patching the ts on Longbridge. Even the sections they have finished constructing on the laogs ibadan express, more than one lane is covered with mud sand because they refused to construct the sections under all the bridges. U turns are very far from each other. Under the bridges in prayer city/magboro, Arepo and even warewa were not taken into consideration. Those sections are a mess |
