Now he is doing the same to Twitter. Didn't he do his market valuation before moving in to buy Twitter in the first place, who forced him to make offer for the purchase of the platform? Now that negotiations seem to have reached advanced stage, he suddenly discovered that there is something wrong with bots on Twitter, and reason for him to sell out.

I believe Musk is doing this to crash Twitter's market valuation, he didn't have intention buy the company in the first place. Because what would investors think with such a flighty business deal?
