However, my point is that the Nigerian environment may not be as patriotic as some of the leading economies today who committed and are still committing several atrocities just to have the edge over others economically.

They deliberately avoid cannibalizing their own corporations, and even align their mainstream media to do major image laundering and propaganda for their nation’s good. That way they maintain the superiority of their interests and ideology even if negatively impactful to others.

Nigeria and Nigerians need to learn how not to wash their dirty linens in the public domain because image is everything in the international and business community. I hope this doesn’t affect flutterwave international ratings and partnerships eventually.

Let me tell you in case you didn't know. The corporation is fully aware of every misdeed. There is nothing like erring individual. The banks pay the fine and the guy fronting for the deal/insider trading/whatever other crime they commit becomes the fall guy. They are about forfeiting the funds and you are talking about fines. For carrying out transactions below the threshold, its a serious red flag for any serious regulatory body.

I was going mad over my inability to use my Naira debit card to buy things online. I even got a GTB dollar card and still no show. I even got a US PayPal which worked to a certain extent but my mind was never at ease when using it.

Barter.me was the game changer. I doubt this setback can kill the company. At the worst, the chief 3xecutives and board of directors may be replaced.

Any Fintech of Flutterwave can actually fall victim. Sometimes as tech people we have no idea what our inventions might be used for. As a payment gateway, clean and dirty people would use Flutterwave for payment solutions. Perhaps, tech people who operate such platforms need to strengthen their capacities to detect and report suspicious transactions to relevant authorities.
