David Ukpo, who initially agreed to donate his kidney to give Ike Ekweremadu's sick daughter, Sonia, a chance to live isn't the 15-year-old kid he told British authorities he is.

He was born on Oct. 12, 2000. That means he'll be 22 years old in October this year, as his port and BVN data show. (The port and BVN data have been doing the social media rounds, but I've decided to conceal the numbers to protect his privacy).

He was also not smuggled into London, as Ekweremadu's December 28, 2021 visa application letter to the British High Commission shows.

I dislike Ekweremadu the politician but empathize with Ekweremadu the father. As the father of three girls myself, I'll do anything I can to save my daughters from death. That's all this is about. Nothing more.

So far, the evidence seems to be pointing in the direction of the possibility that 21-year-old Ukpo, upon arriving in the UK after agreeing to donate his kidney to Sonia, changed his mind and decided to seek asylum by claiming to be a 15-year-old child who's trafficked to London for organ harvesting.

If that turns out to be true, that would be a horrible way to escape Buhari's Nigeria. Cashing in on other people's personal tragedy--and destroying them in the process-- just to pursue your dream to leave Nigeria is singularly evil.

Are you sure the boy read the letter before Ekweremmadu submitted the letter? It is possible the boy was just informed that a letter was sent in of his visa application. It is also possible the boy knew the actual plan before leaving Nigeria. These confirmations are more important than confirming the boy's age because the allegations of illegal port and deceiving someone for organ harvest are not judged based on the age of the alleged victim. Proving the boy is an adult does not mean there are no other allegations against Ekweremmadu in the case. So, why are people focusing on the boy's age as if the age is the only alleged offense?

And I'm sure you wouldn't have made little of this finding if it had revealed that he was actually 15. By sharing this, more light is shed on the issue of age. With time, we'd know more about his consent. Don't dismiss evidence based on your own preferred outcome.

I have no interest in the matter. And I never said the boy's age does not matter. What I said is the boy's age is not the most important thing here. Someone as learned and as famous as Ekweremmadu allegedly obtained an illegal port and took a boy to UK for organ donation without telling the boy the reason for the travel. How is the boy's age the major problem here? An adult can be deceived. A minor can be deceived. This is why the boy's age is not the major problem. If Ekweremmadu legally obtained a port for the boy and told the boy why they were traveling, then age is the major problem here. But if Ekweremmadu did otherwise, proving that the boy is an adult cannot mean Ekweremmadu is innocent.

Something must have happened to warrant the boy's move. Kperogi can go to court and testify, if he's so sure about the boy's age.

According to arise news, the boy was maltreated by the Ekweremadu family. They were hostile to him, made him sleep on a cold floor and even threatened him.

Then he ran out one night and saw a police officer and explained everything to him and the police took him into custody.

All I know is that senator Ekweremadu and his wife get plenty explanation to do because do many things are not clear as regards this matter.

The issue is the age falsification allegation. But Boys BVN records and immigration records match. It appears the man was advised to go claim assylum as an underage when knowing that his visit visa will expire.

In the UK issues such as child trafficking, racism and terrorism are high priority. If a child informs authority that he's been trafficked for organ harvesting then that is serious.....but the police will investigate to be sure the allegations are true. The Ekweremadu's are innocent until proven guilty.....So far it looks like they might really be innocent

Yes the boy is lying but is good. Ekweremadu should go and build hospital in his state and equippe it just like the one he went to in the UK.

Why do people keep assuming that every police in the world is as useless as the Nigerian Police. Before the police arrest you and charge you to court, they must have had sufficient evidence about the crime. It is in Nigeria the police will arrest you before investigating.
It is illegal to offer any form of reward in exchange for organ donation. I guess that must have been the basis for the arrest.
