For me, it's till it's stop working and it can't be repaired.
I use my phone for as many years as I can, repair screens severally.

This one is upto 3 years, I've repaired screen once, the screen is broken but still working well.
Truth is buying new phone has never been a priority on my bill list.
So, I manage my phone well till my elder brother dash me another one. �

The last time I use a phone for six month is July 2021 ,any ohine have not reach 3 month since ,and before them it's April 2022 to Feb 2021 ,I use like 25 different phones in between ,and since that July 2021 I'm on my 9th phone na ,God no bless me with the ability to keep one phone for a long time

Once it starts to lag, memory space can't do the needful anymore, when it no longer new app updates or features.
Some folks change phones up to 3-4 times a year for no jst reason. I'm like WTF. I call them "Phone Whøres"

The idea is to follow a brand like a sheep so updating the device becomes consistent. For example if you following a brand like Samsung, Let's take the S series. You keep changing it anytime a new upgrade comes out. From S6 to S7.....S20....... Like that and it's also cheaper too since all you doing is upgrading.

Until I use every kobo I spent in buying it...

As for me, 24-36 month. Person gat to update after that.

It all depends on one's pocket though.

When it depriciates, especially when the battery deteriorate.

Used to change phones on average of every year..
But with my current device,a Redmi K30 Ultra..
It's already 18 months old and I have changed the battery once..
But I still see myself still using it in the next 2-3 years..
