I'll probably rewatch Avatar before these animated movies and the Netflix series

Problem is shows like Avatar aren't my taste anymore...pretty childish even though with some adult themes

I won't rewatch Legend of Korra tho.

Vertigo has a slight difference in art style compared to mainstream DC Comics. Although, this comic was first published in 1989 and the style fits the times. Sandman comics usually have unconventional approach to drawing. Even Lucifer comics at times have irregular drawing patterns even if it looks better.

That's just not true. They had top shows like House of Cards, Orange is the New Black and Daredevil already streaming long before Stranger Things came out.

Stranger Things (2016)

Season 4 Vol. 1.....7.5/10

Comparatively to previous seasons, this season has been sorta underwhelming.

The whole Jason subplot is dumb af. No self respecting adult would take a teenager's word over a town sheriff's. are we to honestly believe the people in Hawkins are so mentally weak as to let themselves be galvanized by a dumb Jock into witch hunting little kids

The actor portraying Jason also can't act for shit. he just doesn't have the nuance to sell the character to the audience. his actions and facial expressions are at odds because they don't match.

The nonsensical subplot also kinda hinders the general rhythm of the show. I was hoping it will fizzle out but it somehow carried into episode 6, like why

The other subplots are okay with my favorite being Joyce/Murray and the Kamchatka subplot.

I'll wait till the 2 remaining episodes drop on July 1 to make my final assessment, but this season hasn't been as interesting as the season 1, 2 and 3.

No season has been able to top it for me, season 3 came the closest but there is something about season 1 that makes it nearly perfect in every way.

Stranger Things S4 is overrated.

For me it's 3>1>2>4

There are 4 different groups right now. There should be two (3 at most). The Suzie cheaper by the dozen subplot is completely useless, and the Jason subplot is going nowhere.

Season 4 writing is only trumped by S1. The Jason subplot was needed, and i think it won't even last that long going forward so i see no problem with it. The Duffer brothers have been writing minimal characters like this, so that the show is not just about the kids we know, Just like Bob in S2, the character wasn't going anywhere but it was needed in S2 and ties to the overall flow of the plot. Giving Suzie a proper screen time after her cameo in S3 to understand why she's a nerd with her family's background was needed too.
I simply can't fault S4 Vol. 1. It's S1>S4>S3>S2 imo.

I still don't see how Jason and Suzie subplot derailed the plot advancement. Jason had atmost 5 screen time in the entire season and Suzzie's subplot was that one time they visited her family home.

This is just not true. The group were in synergy, working towards one goal, and even when they are separated, they are still working towards that one goal. The moving pieces are few, controlled and have a purpose.

Everything goes to shit in Season 4 Vol. 1, where many pieces are no longer in synergy or working closely together. Instead of just one goal, there are multiple goals now. It just doesn't feel as well structured as previous seasons. It's a mess.

The long episodes would be completely fine if they weren't super-stretched out fillers.

The Jason subplot ties with Chrissy's subplot and that plot has reached it's end and I don't think it will be exploited any further. They basically have the final episodes to tidy the whole "upside" business cuz S5 will be set years from the events of S4, so it's serious business from here hence.

So I am gonna start watching Stranger things today and I dunno what to expect.
