Last month (may) that I went home they asked for it and according to their website today, it's still required. Save yourself the stress and do the registration. It's free and will take you less than 10 minutes.

You should use an honest Agent or you come to the Embassy

Guys be careful. Qatar don't issue employment visa to certain people/workers with Nigerian port. Before you give anybody money think twice and do all your property verifications
