Having siblings in Canada is a drawback, but I have had clients who have family and yet got their study permits. Let her focus on writing a convincing SOP outlining her ties in Nigeria. In addition to her family, she can add assets and letters from her employer stating she is going on study leave and any association she belongs to.

1. Financial status and Asset: she paid half of the tuition $10k and showed statement of N3.5m. I guess these are not enough. For assets she showed landed asset with no valuation.
2. Family ties in Canada stronger than that of Nigeria: Her husband and son are not coming with her, so what other family ties. Yes she has 3 brothers and a sister in Canada.
Application Date 17th February, upfront medical, new portal, Nairobi visa office, refusal letter today.
I need suggestions while I wait for her GCMS.

I think you need to take it step by step, get your study visa first okay, enter the country first then every other thing you seek will be easy. Like I said concentrate and pray you get a PPR first. Do not disclose to anyone especially at the POE of your hidden plans lol. Stick you what you applied for - Study. Then when you are cleared from the airport then come back and ask us how e dey happen haha

Thanks for your advice and input. The landed document was just for asset and that is the only asset she has. I agree with you the 3.5 million is small, we will work on that. Do you have a sample of SOP? This time we will get a study leave letter from employer.

I recently had an opportunity to speak with an IRCC officer regarding the current status of your brother’s study permit application who advised:



The application was received on Jan 28, 2022 and it is at the Nairobi office
The current posted average processing timeline for all study permit applications outside of Canada is 11 weeks (is not a guarantee)
It is in the final review and decision stage – there is no timeline
There is nothing required from him
On April 27th an officer responded to their enquiry
Joy, Mr. Kelly and I hope your brother Isaiah receives good news soon about his application. If so desired, please feel free to me again on July 10th or after for another Inquiry to IRCC.

Medical Request Today - 21/04/200.

I reside in South Africa and have got S/A I.D.
I forgot to add that am a Nigeria but residing in S/A since 2012 but do travels to Nigeria once in a while.

The process involved in port stamping:

Abuja Address;Visa Application Centre, sterling bank plaza, 3rd floor, plot No 1083, Mohammadu Buhari Way, Central Business District, Abuja Nigeria

Lagos Address; Visa Application Centre Ground Floor, The Manor Plot 110, iral ayinla way, lekki phase 1 lagos Nigeria

Requirement; if you did your biometrics in abuja, Theres no fee except for delivery fees.
buy an envelope.

IF NOT, You will first pay a transmission fee of N9410 to CANADA LOGISTIC COLLECTION (0065165839) Sterling bank
Then print the receipt from your phone(coloured).

if you did your biometrics in lagos. Go to DHL closer to you and pay for 2-way courier and also pay for insurance to be sent to canada VAC Abuja, buy a fresh brown envelope and add the following NB; to give DHL a return address since its a 2 way courier

1.)put two photocopies of your port data page(coloured)
2.)your yellow or white biometric strip(if you have misplaced these paper go to VFS so theyll sort you out). If you dont have the slip you can still send it regardless or you can add the BVL(biometric validation letter)
3.)port request letter
4.)1 copy of the consent form ed and signed( note u are filling and g just the second page of your consent form)
3.)the port itself
4.)one plain sheet of paper where you can write your Name, address, Email, phone number and signature
5.)one coloured copy of the receipt of the transmission fee payment

This is wrong information. The validity of your medicals is one year, if it expires before you travel you'll need to do another, failure to have a valid medicals before travel will lead to inissibility at the airport

You already got your port stamped and returned right? How does medicals come in again? IRCC is done with you. I guess If they needed you to update it then you wouldn’t have gotten PPR and you don’t need medicals to travel... you have your visa already i guess, not really sure! Wait for the gurus

Sorry about your sister's refusal, it's just temporary. She should refire after addressing the VO concerns

1. The amount shown was not reasonable enough. With half tuition at $10k, the remaining half will be in range of that ₦3.5m (which is $10k). That means no money for living expenses... So, let her show about ₦7m above.

2. The 3 brothers and a sister, are they citizens, PR or on temporary residence status?
For temporary status, it will be easy to address. But if they are PR or citizens, she'll need to spend more time explaining and developing more home ties that outweigh their permanent status!

I had a refusal like this because I applied from a place I had temporary residency status in. My GCMS note showed that lesser value was accorded to my home ties because I didn’t apply from Nigeria.
So I think you should think of coming back home and reapplying unless you can proof overwhelmingly strong ties in Nigeria and answer the question of what are you doing in Turkey that’s why the limited employment prospects issue.
You have a good profile, your next application will be an approval.

Did she declare the siblings in canada ?
If she did ,did she explain strong ties to Nigeria
Does she have travel history to capitalize on that she always came back and never over stayed ?
