Nigeria’s leading defense company and developer of innovative armoring solution, Proforce Defence Ltd has apparently netted a lucrative deal to supply MRAPs to Chad.

The deal was signed after South Africa’s Denel failed to supply 40 Military Vehicles to Chad in an order signed in 2017. The Chadian Government paid R100 Million as a down payment for these vehicles. The total cost was between R230 Million and R250 Million.

Nigeria’s Proforce has signed an agreement with ’s Aeraccess for the production of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) as Proforce expands its portfolio into the UAV sector.

The agreement was signed by Proforce Air Systems CEO Ade Ogundeyin and Aeraccess CEO Shehzaad C Allachand on 6 March during the bpi exhibition held in Abuja, Nigeria.

Proforce said the agreement will see the immediate production of UAVs within Nigeria, and will help address the internal defence challenges the country is facing.

Although Proforce specialises in the manufacture of armoured vehicles, it is also expanding into the aviation domain. The company has acquired a 100 hectare parcel of land along the Lagos-Ibadan expressway that will incorporate an armoured vehicle manufacturing plant; a UAV manufacturing facility; Electronic Equipment Factory for the manufacturing of radios and jammers; an ammunition factory; research and development centre; training school; vehicle testing track; firing range; and armoured glass manufacturing factory.



Proforce was established in 2008 and is Nigeria’s largest private armoured vehicle manufacturer, currently employing over 1 000 staff. The company makes armoured tactical vehicles, armoured personnel carriers for the military and police, mine-resistant, ambush protected vehicles, ballistic helmets and vests, armoured cash-in-transit, armoured private and commercial enger vehicles. It has also expanded its portfolio to cover armoured patrol boats and unmanned aerial vehicles, amongst others.

The company’s flagship APC is its PF2, which has been exported to Rwanda, the Central African Republic and South Sudan while its Ara is used by the Nigerian military and Chad. The company’s newest APC is the Viper, unveiled in 2021 as a lighter, faster and more agile version of its Ara.


Aeraccess specialises in the manufacture of military grade UAVs and has been active in the field for nearly a decade. It markets its aircraft for public safety, surveillance and military uses as well as agricultural, electricity, inspection and oil and gas applications. Its product range includes the man-packable HawkEye Mk 1 nano UAV; larger Hawker Q800X quadrotor, and 2 kg maximum takeoff weight Hawkeye Mk II. The Nanohawk and Sparrowhawk are designed for indoor use and geared towards counter-terrorism operations. The Sparrowhawk can deploy flashbangs, teargas grenades and other payloads.

How Tokunbo Ogundeyin is Cleaning out with Multi-billion Dollar Nigeria Defence Contracts

There is a particular kind of grace reserved for only Nigerians. That grace earned the country the status of Africa’s Big Brother. Now, thanks to individuals like Tokunbo Ogundeyin who are hard at their jobs, Nigeria will soon climb to a new status and perhaps compete with the ‘Big Boy Nations’ of the world.


Ogundeyin is indeed Nigeria’s pride. The man in charge of Proforce Limited has contributed time and again to the country and earned many bragging rights on our behalf. Recently, Ogundeyin delivered, as he always does, by making a deal with the European country, Belarus, to supply defence equipment, particularly armoured vehicles.

The star of Ogundeyin once again rose into the midday sky when photos of a powerful armoured vehicle began making the rounds on social media. Judging from the background and colour, Nigerians could only speculate that the vehicle was most likely recently acquired from one of the superpowers. Imagine the excitement when Nigerians found out that the armoured vehicles were made in Nigeria by Ogundeyin’s Proforce company.


Ogundeyin’s reputation was further thrown up into the starry sky when it was rumoured that that particular armoured vehicle had been purchased by Belarus as part of a deal the country had signed with Ogundeyin. Thus, with Ogundeyin behind Nigeria, more nations are definitely paying more attention to us now.

For those who don’t know Ogundeyin’s history, the defence industry was not his first option. Legends claim that he used to be a cleaner in Kuwait until his breakthrough with the Nigerian Army. Now, Ogundeyin makes military equipment, armoured vehicles, and foundations for Nigerians to stand tall among other Africans.


Those that know Ogundeyin personally say that he is a humble man, a quiet man, someone who would be changing the world from behind the curtains and still hold his tongue and opinions. How lucky that he is Nigerian!
