His style isn't particularly original; it's one that's associated with arthouse films. Symbolism, mysticism, and surrealism abound, leaving plenty of room for interpretation and reflection.

I liked his "The Lighthouse," but only because it scratched my "claustrophobic horror" itch. The symbolism aspect of it didn't appeal to me at all.

If "Northman" had arthouse elements mixed in with the macabre, I'd have "Green Knight" PTSD. I'd be completely bored. I'd skip over scenes to get to the good stuff. Hopefully, there will be enough gore to make the experience... valuable.

I'm hoping it's not Green Knight all over again.
Didn't watch The Lighthouse. But The Witch was great.

The action is really cool, the CGI is pretty consistent, the editing and music are adequate, Carrey's performance is great, the dialogue and emotional moments are extremely cheesy and predictable, but in a way that the movie needs. The movie has a lot of heart.

This was a delight. I'm looking forward to Sonic 3.

Lol, I didn't mind the Shakespearean English. It added a bit of flavor to the era it was set.
It's probably the weakest Shakespearean English I've watched in movies. If you watch Macbeth (2015) you go know how far. Na with force I finish that movie.

It's a story relating sexuality with religion and spirituality. Also shows how over piousness and religious symbolism can blind people's senses.

It was filled with gratuitous nudity but they were mostly done to further the story and add to its authenticity.
I woulda given it a lower rating but learning that it's adapted from a 16th century real life story, the rating just has to go up as it was mostly faithful to how things happened then.

Also breasts served up there. Big ups to the director and cast. They never disappointed.
