Good evening guys, pls concerning filling the I-20, if your cost of attendance is $60k and you have $40k but you applied for loan and $48k was approved. Do you fill in the whole 48k on the self- column or just the amount needed to make it $60k?

The latter is better. You'd only have to explain how you'd be paying back the $20k loan.

Please, I would appreciate it if someone could assist me with my question regarding the SEVIS fee. I paid for the SEVIS fee last year in June when I checked the portal it says expires 31/07/2022. My question this, Is it still valid once I request for a new I-20 from school even if my interview date is August?

After requesting for a new one, if the SEVIS ID on the I-20 matches the old one, just check the payment status on the SEVIS website after 31/7/2022. The outcome would determine if you'd have to pay another sevis fee.

Thanks for all the heads up on EA and all. I am resuming this fall on the 15th of August and I plan to apply for EA by June 15th.
However, Lagos was the location I picked and I am now paranoid about it since I have heard a lot of people say Abuja responds to EA faster.

My questions are:
1. Can I rely on Lagos to get an EA date?
2. How can I change my location to Abuja? - at least Abuja looks easier to get EA when one applies for it.

Please, I am trying to schedule an appointment for F-2 visa interview. After filling in my personal information, i was taken to a page where i will fill for dependent travelling with me. Because, i have none, i clicked "continue". It then asked if me and my family are citizens of Nigeria, I clicked "yes". It then asked if i have had multiple entry F visa before, i clicked "no". The next page ( i have attached the screenshot), stating that I have to go back to step 2 and choose a location for my interview.

After multiple times of trying, my was frozen for 72hours. Please, who has experienced this, and how did you rectify it?

Why is your visa category "All other student ..." rather than student and exchange visa

Hello guys…. just got an ission my COA is 23k I use my brother SOA to collect my i20 but they indicate the exact amount of his SOA on my i20 which is 49k after they have converted it in their own rate. They haven’t made my funding decision yet but have also save over the years toward this step and it’s about 1m+ Don’t know the amount in USA if they convert it again but hopefully maybe it will be 2-3k. Personal funding is an advantage if you have been working and have verifiable income. Talk about it in addition to the sponsorship. They'd definitely ask what you do. Find a way to talk about it and the fact that you saved and would be taking the personal funds with you in addition to the sponsorship as a form of buffer

Great scores. Perhaps you should write to programs/ faculty of interest to inquire about spring funding but generally it’s usually low.

Search for the GRE thread on nairaland, ask the same question u asked here. You’ll meet many students and prospective grad students that can advice you.

Since the start date will likely bear the program start date, I am wondering if the consulate will review my GA offer letter and schedule an earlier date for my interview. I recently received a fully funded offer for a PhD. I want to apply for F2 for my wife, so we can both attend the visa interview together.

However, my assistantship offer may not cover all of her own expenses as stipulated by the school. So we want to get a proof of funds.

My question is this: is it better we use her for the proof of funds or we should use my mom's ? What do you think, please?
