I have been in Sunderland for a little over two weeks now and I have applied to over 40 jobs all to no avail. I don't know what to do anymore, I have done few interviews and it seems they are all looking for a full time work.

I have experience in sales and I've been applying for jobs as sales assistant, retail assistant etc.

I have a Certificate in IT(British Computer Society), I don't have any work experience in IT so I haven't been applying for jobs related to it.

What do I do? It's really getting to me.

Most (legit) Tier-2 jobs do not come ‘at-a-cost’ (as per Nigeria parlance).

The way to get a tier-2 job is through applying for the job. You should also be able to prove that you have the brains, the ability & capacity to perform.

I would advice that you totally delete that ‘at a cost’ mindset from your brain.

Its difficult getting into care jobs too because I have no experience and driver's license.

In sunderland royal hospital health assistant are massively short staffed and there are many job posting why not try them out boss

Is there anything to be worried here? Hope they will not come with sledge hammer and take all at once. Should I complain to my employer?

Would your gross earnings from when you started work until the 5th April be less than £12,570? If you answered yes, then you have nothing to worry about, as you would have earned below the annual income tax-free allowance for the 2021/2022 tax year and therefore exempt from paying income tax. You should however see a change from the 6th of April. Don’t worry, you go pay tax tire.

Nobody pays zero tax. You buy anything you pay vat, you pay for services vat, local council tax, everything is taxed. The only thing not taxed is the air you breathe in and the grace of God.

Please, how can one get a very cheap car rental service in the UK that includes insurance, MOT and service? I just want to pay monthly rental while the car company takes care of the rest. Got NHS job that requires driving to the homes of patients.

Can't afford to buy a car as the trust requires I have a car to drive for the job on resumption day. And I don't qualify for car salary sacrifice scheme according to the trust.

Please, kindly help.

You're talking about car leasing, basically.
You must be earning quite a lot from this your NHS job to be floating ideas in that sphere.
It's a viable but expensive alternative to buying a cheap set of wheels and flogging it for a couple of years in your case.

Try Tesco Bank credit card, if you get 90% approval go ahead and apply but anything less than 90% don't even try. One major issue is you having a full time job, if you don't have, hardly can you get a credit card

The thing about the UK is that you need to study about the industry and tailor your naija experience to their job specs highlighting the projects you have done and how it relates to the UK industry. They also want to know what you did and not what your company or team did. Also check out the necessary credentials and qualifications that are required for the role you apply for. All Engineering Jobs in the UK are in the shortage skill list and once you can prove you know the job, you can even get a company to sponsor your visa but the question remains do you know the job?
