I don't have a profile video and I have been landing gigs without it. Like he said, a good portfolio, good ratings from past client, and most importantly, well crafted proposal

If you are a tech person learn Chrome Development and other platforms e.g WordPress Elementor for Upworks, you cannot find regular PHP jobs easily like that. take my advice I only have 5 jobs and ed 1k, some of you are higher than me, but I only have recurring gigs.

Please, any pointers as to where a beginner can start? I will really appreciate the info. Thanks

Well Yes. Although in total I have only landed 4 gigs or thereabout, so I'm no expert on landing gigs

I have a problem though. Since I opened my upwork, I havent gotten a buyer.
Last week I got my first two interviews and I was so happy.
The first one, the lady needed me to create a on her company's platform. Unfortunately, the platform doesn't accept Nigerian IP. That's how she stopped responding.

The second dude, he gave me the job, but he hasn't verified payment, so I cant send the job. Although I told him, that I had almost finished and that he needed to payment. Thats how that one too hasn't replied since Thursday.

What can/should I do? My connects have finished and I havent had a single buyer

First, know this and know peace: do not, I repeat, do not apply to jobs that don't have verified payments, they are usually a waste of time. Secondly, be strategic in applying for jobs. Don't apply to all the jobs you see. Only those you know you can handle. Thanks

Thanks for your advice. This has been my approach. But I read that some new s have issues with ing payment, so you can give them time , etc.

she's been inactive for a while or hasn't gotten a job for a long time.

Try upgrading to upwork's +hip and try applying for a job

Mine is private because I have been unable to get a job yet, they said it will be set to public once I'm able to start earning.
