- Pay visa fee
- Update your cgi portal with the visa fee receipt
- Then you start seeing dates.

During the filling up of your CGI page, you would come across where to input your i20 and Sevis deets, just find something like the required character and fill up, when you receive your i20 and SEVIS details you update your profile.

Don’t forget all ‘that’ are NOT CRIME or OFFENSE. So, no penalty, it is just way of ‘beating’ getting earlier appointment date.

Yes, I reached out to ask if he had funding to new graduate students and showed him how my research interest aligned with his. Before I was offered the ission. I did some research on schools that were doing good work in my research area and reached out to faculties of those schools. Cold email technique.

But nobody would tell you if you can get VISA approval with your profiles (both working and academic) because VISA PROCESS is another thing entirely. It would between YOU; THE VISA OFFICER and GOD. PS: ission process is different; Visa Application is different.
Get started by applying to schools before you even think of Visa or its application.

After, you make payment via GTBANK or on GTBank mobile app (N67,200).
You need; your port deets to fill the payment form.

After the payment, you go back to your cgi portal to update your payment transaction receipt.

After the update, you would be seeing the available visa interview dates.

PS: While creating the portal your might see an error message of not being able to create. Send the below email to their system:

Just like it was answered earlier, no more dropbox in Nigeria for now.
Are you renewing your B1/B2 alone or with your family? If you are renewing alone, you can update your DS160 application, changing your B1/B2 to F1. Since your scheduled date is in 2023, you have nothing to lose, cancel your appointment, submit your updated DS 160 reflecting the F1 and pick a fresh date which will still be in 2023. You can now expedite your appointment 60days before your resumption date.
In expediting, if you qualify for interview waiver, you will be notified. For now, only those qualified for the interview waver scheduled for Jan 18th -25th are being considered. Based on my personal findings.

My visa interview is on the 17th of February 2022 at the Abuja Embassy. However my program started on the 10th of January 2022, I could not get an earlier date, all emergency appointment dates request were denied, I even had to pay the MRV fees twice.
I am just wondering if there is an issue with attending a scheduled study visa appointment 4 weeks after the program start date.

I actually deferred to January 2022 when I could not get a date before the original fall 2021 start date. I have only one opportunity to defer as per Bowling Green state university policy which I have utilized. I have to apply afresh for ission consideration if I do not get the chance to attend the visa interview this time.

My application was denied at Abuja on 20th of January after which I have completed another DS-160 and paid another MRV fee but since then, everytime I try scheduling an appointment and select the "interviewed and/denied within the last two months option" I've been receiving response that there are currently no available appointments. I want to assume your mum's visa category is B1/B2, if so, she definitely qualifies for a drop box till April 27th. However, there are other criteria

you have to tick. Has she applied for a visa renewal with an appointment date scheduled before now? The U.S embassy keeps updating their

information periodically so you need to read the latest update. As at Dec.2021, there was no dropbox but there is for those that qualify based

Ok, yes if you have enrolled online already it's a good explanation on why after 4 wks of resumption but make sure the program you are doing online can't be totally offered online. What I'm saying is, if the VO thinks you can actually get your degree if you continue online then you will not be needing a visa after all. So that is the backside of starting a class online. Have all ing documents ready. A letter from the school, coursework and all of that. Most importantly, make sure you make it politely clear that it's impossible to finish your degree online without some in-person coursework in form practical or anything as relate to your post rogram.
