Hello, Wondering, if a pharmacist can apply for a care assistant job, does that give relevant healthcare experience ? Everyone knows how difficult it is to get a qualifying certificate for a Nigerian trained pharmacist to work in the UK. So I'm wondering if one could travel as a care assistant, then begin the process of qualifying to work in the UK ? Thanks. |

Working as a carer, workers, under SOC code 6145 in the uk, the company sponsoring you will give you an in house training for 4 days and also some practicals before you start work. So why all these level 3 care certificate and so on? You can enter uk today with authorization to work and start care job with the next 2 weeks. 8 Likes |

webhostbiz: Level 3 - makes you qualify for senior carer which is more money than HCA..from February 15th Companies would be able to sponsor carer assistants from out of the country, having level 3 makes one stand out more as it is envisaged that there might be a lot of competition for these roles. If one is already in country, I believe it might be easier to get sponsorship compared to out of the country. |

amehrada:Why are they rushing to obtain certification when the proposed care visa is tailored for the unskilled care worker? From the news publication, the employers would give compulsory on-the-job training to employees. Well, unless there is some missing info 1 Like |

SQLmastar:‘Unskilled care worker’ with no qualification in health and social care and ‘unskilled care worker’ with qualification in health and social care, who do you think will appeal more to an employer when they go through their CV’s? No qualification and little to no experience, how do you intend standout amongst the thousands of people that will be vying for the care worker job come Feb.15. Another thing is, the qualification is required for a senior care worker and this job is currently on the shortage occupation list. In a nutshell, there’s no missing info. People are just trying to standout by looking more appealing to employers. 4 Likes 1 Share |
