If you want to do it yourself 30k should be enough, but you may experience delay. Although I did my and it arrived on time.

I renewed my port but i have not been able to get a booklet.....I currently have an urgent need for it now.....is it possible to go get it from another state where it can be faster??

They are using appointment date in Ikoyi Office.

For a port renewal
1. Click on https://portal.immigration.gov.ng/port/eport/ptype/1By1C

2. Select "Standard eport" option, your country name and click "Start application"

3. Fill in your old port info and other required info and printout the "Application form" when you are done (you can save first in a PDF format for later printout)

4. Proceed to payment. When you are done, printout both the "Acknowledgement slip" and "Payment slip" respectively"

Note: Atleast one of the 3 printouts will carry your interview date. The day to go to your selected port office with the below documents. Though you can also go before or after the stated date.

Documents to go along with to the port office
1. NIN slip (1 copy)
2. State of Origin certificate (1 copy,)
3. Birth certificate (1 copy)
4. 2 port photos
5. Application form (1 copy)
6. Acknowledgement slip (1 copy)
7. Payment slip (2 copies)
8. A Hand writing letter on a paper (probably an A4) to the Controller General for renewal of port.
9. A grey/brown file (cost #50 or #100) and its hook (#50). You can get this at the port office.

Note: Go along with all originals for verification sake.

Capturing Stage
You will be rightly directed for this stage after finishing the "verification stage" above.
Note: When you are done capturing, a printout will be given to you which contains your port's collection date. Goodluck.

Gurus in the house, I just realized my kid's place of birth on the collection slip is different from what is on his birth certificate, I called the immigration office if anything can still be done since capture was done yesterday, but they said he'd captured and it can't be edited. While crosschecking I only looked at his name arrangement and date of birth, didn't pay attention to the place of birth, whereas I filled the correct information on the online application form, I guess the officer who did the capture didn't notice.
Please will this be an issue for us when applying for Visa?

Just go with the small white paper slip that has your name and collection number on it. Once you get to the collection centre, hand it over to an officer who will check if your port is ready

Not an issue but you can get another birth certificate with the same place of birth as the port if still in doubt

I would advise you to get it corrected and don’t listen to whoever says it doesn't matter for visa processing. ports bear place of birth and once this information contradicts what you fill in your visa application forms and ing documents (birth certificates), it would be seen as a misrepresentation which may have dire consequences. Sorry, you should have paid more attention during capturing, unfortunately.
But again, the port will only contain the town of birth so if the town of birth on the birth certificate and the collection slip are the same, then you dont need to bother. If not, please get it corrected, but it will be done at a fee at the port office.

Good morning house, please who's going to Abeokuta immigration office, I need to check if my port is ready, I captured since Aug 27th . Have been there myself more than 6 times, I just want to go there again without being sure my port is ready.

I am going in there tomorrow morning. I captured on August 18th. I fully expect it to be ready by now.

Guys I applied for a port online and I booked an appointment to capture for the 21st of this month, only for the system to change it to 21st of next month after I submitted. I thought it was a system glitch and I went back to redo it again and it was the same result. The 21st of this month is free, I checked.

Please is this normal? Is it normal for an extra month to be added to whatever date you selected?
