Experience with Immigration - Spent less than 3mins with the immigration.

Immigration officer- why are you following her? Are you together?
My wife - that’s my husband
Me- laughed and said she’s my wife and I follow her every where.
Immigration officer- laughed too and said ok.
We gave him our ports and documents, he returned the documents without looking at them and held the ports.
Immigration officer - what happened to your port ? Is it washing machine?
My wife - no it fell into a bowl of water.
Immigration officer- why are you here?
My wife- to study
Immigration officer- what school and course?
My wife - she answered
While he was talking he was just laughing and he already scanned her port.
Immigration officer- where did you school in Nigeria? Abuja or Lagos?
My wife - Abeokuta
Immigration officer laughed then said put your thumb here and he stamped her port then faced me. Scanned my port and said…
Immigration officer- Do you know how your wife will get the BRPs?
Me- Yes
Immigration officer- put your thumb here. Then he stamps my port and said welcome and enjoy your stay.

No documents was checked. Not even the BRP letter or vaccine card. He didn’t even ask about the locator form or day 2 test. The officer was just all smiles and jokes.

I pray we all experience this kind of easy on our journey.

(my old port was to expire in August 2022 and immediately I put my port details on my CAs shield, I received a notification from the CAs team to details of a renewed port as I won’t be given CAs with a port that will expire before the end of my studies…I had to quickly reach out to people and got a new port within 2 weeks)

Also, I have only 1 past visa refusal which I declared to the school at the initial stage of my application and I was made to understand that Ulster’s compliance interview is only done for people with 2 or more past refusals so it was really surprising when my CAS shield was at 55% and got a mail from school on the 6th of December stating that the CAS team had scheduled a compliance interview with me cos of my past visa refusal in 2018.

Compliance interview: 10th of December

CAS:16th of December

Visa application: 20th of December

Biometric: 29th of December (walk in…slept at Ikeja tls for 4days…story for another day)

Application moved to DMC: 29th of December

Application received at DMC: 29th of December

NSF mail: 17th of January..I have 11years study gap but eco only requested for my most recent work or education reference

Submission of additional document: 19th of January and sent another document on the 22nd of January

Application moved to Vac: 28th of January

Collection mail: 28th of January (very late at night)

port pick up: 31st of January

Documents submitted: Pof, Tb cert, Neco, Bsc cert and Cas

I wish everyone still waiting for their visas the grace of speed and huge testimony.

Yes either can travel without the other but the dependant can not enter the uK before the main applicant. The main applicant has to travel with the kids first then the dependant husband can later

I have decided not to send any mail again.
The people responding to your paid mail can only escalate your case, and track your application status, they can not access your case to know the exact situation, and it is possible a decision has be made and they don't have the update, at least i got that from one of their correspondence with me.

No, you don’t need a transit visa. Your UK student visa allows you visit Turkey without a visa.
