Good morning Nairalander,

I am currently in Canada Sept 2021 intake, taking a 1 year PGD programme which will be completed on April 30th 2022 same day my visa expires, I'm applying for a second program 1+1.

My spouse applied for OWP since April 2021 but no PPR yet. I was told by a classmate that there is a 6 month's rule meaning if SP's current status is less than 6 month it will affect OWP visa application even tho he filed is application immediately i got my approval. What can i do, is this information true.

Ppl get SOWP easily .. Getting visa Approval is a product of Gods grace and at the discretion of the visa officer nobody can stop family unification except for low family ties to home country and financial inabilities ... The delay is due to backlog of visa application.

Visitor visa on the new portal...no updates so far. This backlog thingy is worrisome.

I was able to IRCC on your behalf. The current status for your husband and children's application is that the criminality and biometrics have been ed. Medicals were received on December 29th 2021. Eligibility is still in progress.
I will IRCC in a month to check on the status of your application.

Has anyone received this kind of mail from an mp before? Please gurus in the house what do you think? How can one interpret this? Especially that last part that the would in a month to check on the status...

A little throwback. On Feb 2021, we applied for sowp and study visa for my spouse and kids to me here in canada (I am on study visa). When we didn't here form them we applied for visitor visa for the whole family under the new visitor visa platform on October 2021. Still no word... we then started with webforms telling them that they've exceeded the normal processing time (more than 50 business days now). All we got is the usual generic emails until we ed the mps office who sent us the email above.
Don't even know what to think with this reply. The anxiety is something else.
Wetin una think...Is their hope of or nothing in at least a month time?

Tbh they are not working on your file or MAYBE they’re tho, only the gcms note can tell. For me i ed several MPs in different provinces I was told eligibility is in progress. I have applied for GCMS notes twice. First Gcms, my file was not touched, Second Gcms same thing my file wasn’t touched eligibility was not in progress, the only changes I saw was the messages all the MP sent IRCC enquiring about my file. IRCC told the MPs eligibility is in progress which in the Gcms notes it wasn’t.

So maybe you apply for a GCMS and know exactly what’s going on with your file.

Please has anyone received ADR on this SOWP stuff and how long after responding to ADR was a PPR issue?

why is it that you guys keep asking them to inquire on your file and not request for urgent processing? especially candidates that have opted to do visiting visa as a supplementary action. granted when i attempted to do SOWP urgent processing through the MPs IRCC ignored me but visit visa under reuniting with your spouse or immediate family member that works. please lets be more aggressive and less meek guys! God will grant us all this thing in Jesus name.

The MPs in my wife’s city are very annoying, they claim to have ed IRCC but they didn't, she went to their office with baby asking for assistance, they got my information but no update till today. The only MPs that opened a case file for me was from Alberta, Mississauga and Montreal the rest kept insisting they would inquire. One from Ottawa even hung up on my wife sef.

How come you are able to MPS in all these regions? you live in and pay taxes in all these regions? my understanding is that your local MP is responsible for your welfare including immigration issues.

Some MP's don't ask for address or postal code, some do and some don't.

Hello gurus in the house,

Please I need your advice. I saw a sponsored ads on Facebook about Canada Jobs. It also captioned that the company will sponsor the visa. I picked the number and chatted on WhatsApp. I was asked to send my CV to their email and after 24hours, I was mailed that my qualifications met their requirements. I was offered job as a Drill Engineer for the Oil and gas company. I was later sent Temporary Residence Visa Form to fill as well as Labour Market Impact Assessment(LMIA) form and Job agreement letter(that have in it that I will be responsible for the biometrics fee while other cost till arrival will be handled by the company). I filled and signed where necessary and returned them with my International port as requested.

After few days, I was mailed to send the LMIA , Visa Form and my International port to the lagos embassy of Canada through the email they gave ([email protected], so as to book my biometrics. I did as instructed and after few hours, got a mail from the said lagos embassy mail that my documents have been reviewed and i should proceed to pay for my biometrics through the payment link supplied so I can be given date for the biometrics. The biometrics fee is $116 CAD and processing fee is $91 CAD, bringing total to $207 CAD which amounted to #66,549.89 or pay same into one CEDI SIGNAL ZENITH BANK and send receipt to them.

I am confused as to being real or not which is the reason I seek your genuine and honest advice.

And also VFS don't give biometrics letters....your biometric letter comes from IRCC with a UCI number and an application number...all this you can use to check the authenticity of it on the official Canada site.....VFS only gives you and appointment date..takes your biometric and send back to IRCC then you wait for PPR if your application scales through...bros nah scam be that o abeg run....run as fast as your legs can carry you....Canada matter nor be over night o....I have been waiting for PPR since April last year still nothing...
