Good morning everyone,

I applied for F1 visa in 2019 and was denied. Now, I want to apply again. Do I need to fill out a new DS-160 form or retrieve the one I submitted in 2019?

Your advice will be much appreciated.

Hello house,

Is it possible to change to Abuja after applying for F1 visa in Lagos?

What’s the current situation?

this question is quite Vague. Go through this thread and you will get a lot of information. You can now come back to ask specific questions based on the information you don’t understand.

Oh,

To the best of my knowledge, since the ission has now been deferred, I’m not sure they can request an EA not until some sixty(60) days to school resumption.

Hello everyone, please I need advise from gurus in the house. I am on F1 visa. I resumed August 2021 in the US. My husband is going for his F2 interview this January in Lagos. He was previously denied in November 2021 when they asked 'how he intends to make money'.

We went back to drawing board, changed I-20 to his personal funds because the former one he was denied with had the name of my friend who is a Permanent resident in the US as sponsor.

We have now changed the I-20 to his personal funds and worked on the Ds-160. He has a full time job in Nigeria even though he has just worked there for 1 year this January.

Is this strong enough as home tie?

He also has businesses and has been to the US before sponsored by Lagos state for business but on B1/B2 which is now expired.

Advice from gurus in the house would be appreciated as we prepare for interview.
We do not have any children yet and our marriage is 2years, 9months.

I would be back to testify.

Hello house,
I have read through some of the post here it's wonderful and somehow helpful.
I graduated 2019 with 2.7/5.0 cgpa in mechanical Engr. I am currently doing my compulsory NYSC programme that will run till October this year.
I have started doing some research about A&M Texas university but I don't know where to start from because all these spring/fall ission I am reading sounds highly foreign to me. I don't even know if I have any chance of being itted into the school because of my poor GP.
Please I need some guidelines/guidance so that I will take it up from there.
And if there's anyone applying for MSC in Mechanical/Industrial Engr in the same school, you can send PM so that we run things together.

Just generate a SEVIS fee payment coupon. Then go to the bank and pay through Western Union. OR alternatively, someone in US to help you pay while you send him the money.

The fee is (officially) $350 for F1 visa applicants.

fam, your best option is to go prepare and write GRE. Try as much to get a very good score. You still have a chance. Just that you need to prepare well and look into your chances.

Do I have a chance of getting ission without GRE?
As GRE will take months of preparation and I'll like to get ission as fast as possible.

Thanks for your prompt reply.

2nd Attempt
Location:Abuja
COA- $20,138
No funding
Status: Denied

VO: You are going to study management information system at Bowie state university.
Me: Yes ma

VO: What are you doing currently?
Me: I work as an enterprise resource planning business consultant at an IT & Management Consulting firm ..... I mentioned the coy’s name.

VO: Did you apply to any other school?
Me: Yes ma, I applied to Arden university in .

VO: Who is your sponsor?
Me: My parents and my uncle will be ing too.

VO: What do they do?
Me: My Father is a safety and security consultant at .......an oil and gas company, He is also a retired senior naval officer, immediately I told her I have a letter from the navy and statement she didn’t bother to look at it. She kept on typing so I kept on talking about my uncle
My uncle is a proprietor of a school and he’s also a director at ....... educational consulting firm.
She brought out the blue paper, I asked her what was the reason for the denial and she told me to read the blue paper.
My head just went blank.
I don’t know why I was denied, maybe I was not confident enough I just can’t explain or maybe because I don’t have funding.

They gave so many people visa to an extent today, but rejections were more as usual.

Wait, the old one expired 30 days ago but they already have your information saved on their system right?

So even if it takes 6 months before one goes back again, they can retrieve the old information? Or they can’t anymore?

Someone should please explain

I got interviewed by the same lady too. and was approved. I think she relies more on the strength of your DS-160 to make a decision rather than the interview itself...which is why it is important to fill out your ds-160 yourself...to stand out from the generic crowd. they only issue about 5000 F1 visas to Nigeria currently... so competition for space can be stiff at times especially during the surge days like Yesterday.

Your guess is as good as mine. I lost all my confidence, I couldn't speak up to answer the only question asked but still got approved.

DS-160 is very important. My DS-160 was well detailed and I was lucky.

That DS-160 is key please. Everyone should fill it properly with much details. If you have nothing to hide on your social media handle, pls drop all. I mean all. I dropped Abt 7 social media handle, 3 mails, 4 mobile number have used in the last 5 years and my job duties were well detailed.

Goodluck to everyone

after applying for EA? That’s can’t be bro

Whatever date you see there, just pick it and apply for EA. Give your strong reasons and once it’s approved, you will see January dates

I applied for expedient the second time for a new visa application but got denied,,and I learnt you can't apply more than once. Now I'm stuck with July 30th 2022 date while my school resumes this January 18th 2022.

I'm new here ,let me prepare my questions, will be so glad if I can be able to get help here.

I'm new here,a Facebook friend just introduced me here yesterday.
