Kwara case is different they share some Yoruba and hausa culture but benue has little similarities with east or south

Apart from Christianity...they dont have anything in common.... culturally and historically they are related to tribes in the north. Even as benue borders at least 2 south east states theres no LG in benue that ibos are a majority

This is not true. There's nothing northern about Benue. They share nothing similar with the north, they are all Christians, culturally they are unique as well. The Idoma's of Benue share more similarities in culture and tradition with the Igbos than any other ethnic group, they answer the same names and have the same market days with the Igbos. The Tivs on the other hand have very unique traditions peculiar to them alone.

i know that, but i have benue friends who speak hausa fluently if u see them u may not be able to different between them and hausas

Your friends learnt Hausa from a different place not Benue. They probably grew up in the far north. There are many Igbos who speak very fluent Hausa in the north to. I'm disputing your point you made about Benue not having any similarity with the east. There are minority Igbos as indegenes of Benue and there are also minority Idomas who are indegenes of Enugu state. You'd also find the Igedes and Ezza people of Ebonyi state sharing the same ancestral land.

The British later changed it for their political/economic expedience to our own disadvantage. Take note of the border above Idah and how it connects perfectly with the line that went to Western Nigeria. There are a lot of things done to put us in the mess we are presently.

I served with an Igede guy and we nearly fought one day I tried to tie him and Benue state to the core north and this happened at in the north. The middle belt is like the South South. Most ordinary folks there have their own views of things while the dominant political elite is a creation of the core north caliphate. The David Marks, Audu Ogbe and the Suswans.. the core north made them what they are today..

They elites parrot the One North mantra while the ordinary folks face the Fulani and his matchete in the rural areas. Idomas are not really northerners. But fighting with the fulanis during the war seem to have cemented their status as northerners in the minds of easterners. The Sarduana carried out a genocide against The Tivs in the 50s for their "insubordination". Essentially they are northerners today because its the core north that plays the piper politically at the moment.

Dont be fooled by Benue people. There may be people in the lower Benue such as Benue Igbos, Igede and lower Idoma who dont behave like Northerners

But by and large, the are Northerners and have Northern mentality

this assertion of yours is false. Take your time and read about the way of life of the Tivs and focus more on the Idomas and you'd realise where your error in assertion lies

As an idoma man, traditionally and culturally i have more in common with the igbos than any other tribe in nigeria including the tiv. We have nothing in common with the north and i do not see myself as a northerner. Our culture and traditions are unique on it's own.

Most of the people replying above and claiming Benue people share more in common with Northerners are typical Yorubas. They don't travel, nor do they know Benue people and are quick to separate people from SE. Same way they do to the Ibibio and Efik, all because the they hate Igbos. Yorubas, stop this evil and division you causing.

I grew up in Benue, let me tell you, there is nothing in common between Benue people and core North. Idomas share more with Igbos than their fellow state's men and women, the Tiv, the largest ethnic group with 12 local government areas. The Tiv share more in common with Taraba and Nasarrawa people since they border those states or people, but again, those people in Taraba and Nasarawa are not core North. The Idoma, Etulo, Igede and Igbos on the south side of the state, share more in common with Igbos and control 8 local government areas.

In fact, there is not much difference between Igbo and Idoma. They look alike, share same culture and tradition, same market days and Idomas have Igbo middle names like Ochefu, Onyenefu, Oyinye, Eche, Acha, Agada, Alechenu, Udoka, Ochogwu, Acholonu, Agbo, e.t.c. I can tell the difference in looks between idomas and Tiv, because they are not the same people. Tiv people tend to be mostly dark to very dark skin and have smaller body frame. While Idomas are more like Igbos, they have dark skin, have light skin, have brown skin and are well built and muscular like Igbos.

I'm an idoma from Benue. The difference between us and northerners is like heaven and earth. Culturally, we have more in common with the Igbos, we even share same market days (Nkwo, Eke, Ede, A for).
