Uzbekistan is not a country for A Nigerian to migrate to. Kazakhstan, Pakistan, Uzbekistan, Albania, Northern Cyprus etc are no go areas to hustle. Which embassy do you think you'll apply to? Abort mission asap! There are better options biko

I haven't been there but I can give you a clue of how you can measure their economic viability:

It' was part of the former Soviet Union but is far low on the pecking order of countries that emerged from it. Ukraine, Russia etc are far better!

It's a landlocked country in the middle of nowhere!

It's an extremely cold country!

Common, there are lots of other countries he can venture into with same resources. That's the same mistake some Nigerians who travel to India only to end up selling drugs or getting involved in other crimes.

It's better your brother move to cotonou than emigrating to uzbekistan. That country is like a death row for any African immigrant. It's empty, cold and racist, you will have to be sending him money from nigeria to feed if he decide to go there.

I've been to Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan on a short visit.

My observations:

1. Strict Moslem country therefore no messing about
2. People were curious but friendly, seeing a black person
3. I never saw a black person anywhere, not even at the airport
4. Got mistaken for a black guy that the immigration authorities were after, but was left alone when I showed them my port.
5. Many secret police - yes, very many. Trust me, you'll be followed, so the one must stay on the right side of the law at all times
6. Had many people trying their English language skills on me
7. People there look like Chinese or Mongols
8. Developing country - nowhere like the West
9. All in all, very nice people.

All the best to your bro but he mustn't get himself into trouble (whatever he does), if he goes there, because he'd be locked up for a very long time and then deported afterwards.

There are no employment and economic opportunities there Amara. What is wrong with Nigerians? Na by force to migrate? Your brother wants to move from frying pan to fire by going to Uzbekistan. This is the same stupid reoccurring mistake Nigerian youths make and then the next thing you know, they are in the news for drug trafficking.

People are telling you the facts that Uzbekistan is not an ideal place to hustle and yet you are asking about employment and economic opportunities. Even here in North America where I reside legally, many people (citizens) are finding it difficult to find jobs that pay a decent wage how much more a place like Uzbekistan.

The problem with Nigerians is that you think any country whose citizens are not Black is automatically a good country to move to but that is not true. Please educate your brother. Not every country outside Africa is conducive to migrate to. Many countries barely have enough jobs for their own citizens talk less of having jobs for immigrants, both legal and illegal immigrants. And not all countries outside Africa are safe for Black people to migrate to. Racism just like tribalism can be deadly so be wise.

I am not saying your brother should not migrate. He should migrate legally and make sure he has a work permit to enable him get employment legally in his new country of residence. Nowadays, especially with the pandemic still raging worldwide, trying to "hustle" without having a work permit or permanent residency will be very difficult. Your brother should never think of going to Uzbekistan. There's nothing there that's worth the money he will spend to go there. There are plenty alternatives like Italy,Portugal, ,Australia etc

A cousin of mine who happens to be a good football player got an offer from an agent to go to Europe to play professionally. I agreed to sponsor the whole arrangement on the condition that i will pay only when the visa is out. Visa came out and it was an Uzbek 90-day visa. The agent was banking on our inability to read the visa written in Uzbek . I aborted mission immediately and my cousin became cold towards me.

I was now seen as a stumbling block to a sure brighter side of life in Uzbek but me i no send anybody oh. Long story short, his friend took up the offer, travelled to Uzbekistan and came back 3months later lamenting that the country is nothing to write home about. The Uzbek returnee is now after the agent claiming he was duped while i sip a glass of wine and thanked TIME for vindicating me.

Tell him to abort mission. Someone from my town is there currently and he is now hustling to get out from that shithole. If he is serious, I can give him an agent number to help him with UK visa but na hustle visa if you know what I mean.
