DoggoneDogg: You are the ignorant here. It's for proper identification of the property because it's a vendor that will visit the address and your neighbors must be able to identify you else, the upgrade or opening will not be completed. Shalom 9 Likes |

Its not out of place, its called(KYC) 'know your customer' Before an can be upgraded an agent is suppose to visit the address of the holder 4verification which would be stated in his report...but most times some agent are reluctant and choose to get d information frm d holder 4his/her report

DoggoneDogg: You are still a kid bro, grow up and stop embarrassing yourself in public, any standard in Nigeria must have house visitation, it is called KYC (know your customer). It is a must for tier 2 upward. Maybe you are still using those s that don't require any ID card before opening (ie tier 1) 16 Likes |

DamianX:banks have even gone beyond KYC (Know Your Customer), now they are implementing KYCB (Know Your Customer's Business) 4 Likes |

DoggoneDogg:I also thought as much, the bank has absolutely no right in knowing the exact description of your house, what are they coming to visit you for? Except you are taking a loan from them, that is absolute violation of privacy. Just provide a valid residential address, if you are staying there or not it's non of their business. |

DoggoneDogg: It is a regulatory requirement. If you use that to commit fraud and declared wanted by law enforcement agents, the bank and the officer must be able to take the law enforcement agents to that address and if you are at large, they must confirm that you were resident in that address at the point of opening/update 7 Likes 1 Share |

DamianX: They need to know where they can catch you in case you use the to commit fraudulent act. You can rent an apartment that you do not live there for proof of address if you want to do yahoo with the . I am suspecting you. ![]() ![]() 2 Likes |

ramaju: KYC is now outsourced to the best of my knowledge. The RM probably needs the information for the agent. That way they don’t claim they didn’t find the house. I’ll be shocked if any bank is still putting their RMs through such an ordeal in 2021. DoggoneDogg: I am beginning to think you are possessed. 11 Likes 1 Share |

Also many people cheat banks. If your friend does anyhow they'll know where to arrest him or who to in the case of his next of kin.
