The Federal Government through National Economic Council (NEC), has warned Nigerians against public protest, one year after the #EndSARS protests that rocked Nigeria, Newspremises reports.

Rumors making the rounds have it that some citizens would mark one year of the protests against police brutality and corruption with more protests.

However, in a statement issued by Laolu Akande, the spokesperson to Vice President Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, Nigerians have been urged “to consider other lawful alternative means of engagement.”

According to Akande, “this is because of the current security situation across the country and the possibility of such protests being hijacked by armed hoodlums and other opportunistic criminals to cause mayhem at such protest events and venues. Council therefore urges the organisers to reconsider their plan.”

He however, noted that action has been taken by federal and state governments, to address the grievances that led to the 2020 protests.

These include:

"the disbandment of SARS; broad police reforms; establishment of judicial s of inquiries to investigate allegations of human rights violations by of the Nigeria Police Force and other security agencies; recommendations of s which are already at various stages of implementation, including the setup of Victims Compensation Funds from which several victims have received payments of sums awarded to them by the s; and prosecution of police personnel indicted by the s."

Akande further explines that, each state, in collaboration with the Federal Government, shall establish modalities for the settlement of all monetary compensations awarded by the s.

“Already, as resolved by NEC, a number of States have set up Victims Compensation Funds, from which several victims have already received payments of sums awarded to them by the s.

NEC has also “urged the Nigeria Police Force to take disciplinary action on the affected officers in line with the provisions of the Police Act 2020.”

He is making a lot of sense. Nigeria is not a normal country. The security threat against the country is massive. Those who follow blindly to engage in such protests only espose themselves to the grievious dangers that is hunting for each Nigerian.

So in summary they are beating a child and warning the same child not to cry because they are ready to shoot the child.

Young people (as young as 18, 21,25) were killed around Nigeria by police and army bullets throughout the duration of the EndSARS demonstrations.

They are ready to kill protesters again.

Good one year, those idiots are still investigating. What are you investigating? If it were to be the child of a General or tier one politician, 3 days the investigation is done.
Foolish people everywhere.

Still About Last Year October 20th.
Here was our very first response to this so called MASSACRE thingy from the very first day.
Sometimes in October 2020

Here comes one of the few OBJECTIVE POST ON THIS THREAD

Even if it was just one (1) youth that was killed
It is a very BIG issue for some of us with brains and souls,
If it was 7 youths as it was reported by the genuine protesters at Lekki, it is still so sad,
and if it was 78 or 100 youths as it was circulated all over social media,
We deserve to know the whole truth as a nation.
So we can know how to table our matter to the international community.
We want to know what is true and what are lies.
We dont want to accept any lies from the Army and at the same time, We don't need some people (celebrities et al) fueling fake news on this heated country now.
We are not fighting against Nigeria,
We are fighting for Nigeria.
#WeStandWithTheTruth
Some Nigerians are waiting for what is the truth.
#WeStandWithAPeacefulProtest.
#AGoodCountryIsAllNigerianYouthsWant
Again,
We are not fighting against Nigeria,
We are fighting for Nigeria.

Conscience is an open wound. Only the truth can heal it.

The Good people of Nigeria deserve to know the WHOLE TRUTH of this Lekki issue now.
Heads must roll!

Up till now, many Good Nigerian citizens with an open mind don't know what to believe.........still!

But throughout the aftermath judiciary set up, no families came out to say their children or family were killed, 78 alleged bodies for that matter!
May God help Nigeria and Nigerians.

Eillyeillz:

You sir are wise. God bless you.
Dchampion65:

God bless really good
Amen.
Thank you so much.
God bless you real real good too!
