You can open a monzo right in the corner of your room with your international port and a video of your face introducing yourself. The I'd also acceptable as salary in most places.

Send an email to GT bank…they’d have to migrate yu to diaspora banking first.

After which they wud be able to post a card to ur address in the uk ( there would definitely be charges)

This happened to me recently with my firstbank acc… the price they quoted to post a card and token to mey uk address was about 20k naira

Its not that simply , he has to complete length forms, get it signed by references, attach list of documents they will list in that form and do video interview as a form of verification, this can take as much as 3-4 months if not more

Please my husband has been trying to open a UK bank with our Tenancy agreement as proof of address but they are not accepting it. They require a utility bill from the government but our rent is Bill's inclusive. Please what's the way out of this as the job he is applying for requires him to have a uk bank ?

Ahh justwise firsbank didnt require any video interview with me you know… i got a proof of my address+ my port + the diaspora form

Documents were signed, dated , stamped by a manager at a hospital (RMN). Took pictures and sent it back to them… in about 15 days it was done(i was fully migrAted)

When I requested for a card… staff told me it would take about 10 days to process my card and token to me. And about 5 days for dhl to deliver.

At the end I cancelled my request for a card.

From personal experience, it took far less than that (just over a week) .
I got someone to pick it by proxy and bring to the UK.

Ipswich will be a lot cheaper than North London. Plus having a port closeby and direct train access to London and the East Anglia means access to a variety of jobs too.

That was not my experience with GTBANK, it was a frustrating experience , you send them one email you get 3-4 replies of the same content and different ref numbers, I posted the whole experience in the previous part.

If my card expires I will forget about that till anytime I visit Nigeria.

Nursery for 3years old, not sure how many free hours you get in Scotland. If you find an African community forum there, you might be lucky to get someone who takes flat rates for all kids (like 30/40pounds per day). I know a few friends who got such offers. Good luck on your search.

Hello Beautiful people

I am having a serious challenge getting accommodation for a young couple in Wales.

Preferably close to USW. Any help will be appreciated.

P.S I have tried SpareRoom, Rightmove, Zoopla e.t.c nothing has opened up.

Please help a brother, it’s urgent. Abeg

Can you state the specific challenge. Are there no houses in the area you are looking for? They don't meet your specification, etc, so people will know how to help you.

With GTB, I had a similar experience. It was horrible and unpleasant, and I had no choice but to abandon it until I returned home. They charged me for the replacement card, and when I went to pick it up, they informed me that it had been over a year and that I would have to pay another fee for a new card. I'm not going to renew when the current one expires.

They have actually done me a massive favour by blocking that , each time i send money home through that i get charged for the service and also for sms, so now i don't have to pay all that, i send directly to my relatives through agent.

Welcome to the UK.
5 pounds an hour is an average childminder rate.
The way it generally works with children under 3 is that if you wish to work full-time, one of the parents will basically earmark [a large chunk of] their salary and hand it over to the childminder every month.

This is below the minimum wage. I'm guessing that figure of £5/hour is for people who are are uned and do not fulfill all the legal requirements for the job e.g DBS checks, OFSTED registration etc.

Sorry to bother you. My brother doesn't even know nor have his officer . How best do you think he can solve this, cause that like his major and if he can't access the via mobile app or debit card then funds would be trapped there. All efforts to speak to a customer service representative here is met with machine response.
