What Is The Highest Salary You Have Ever Received (39660 Views)
airsaylongcome: 9:26am On Sep 07, 2021 |
Dameland: I have NO PROBLEM with the "help" he is offering. My ish is with trying to sound "holier-than-thou", insinuating that Nigerian companies pay paltry amounts, then he turns around to offer a job that is pay the same paltry amount. ₦100k a month is ₦5k a day, ₦625 per hour. That's what some people earn in 5mins. It's perfectly fine to want to "help" but not by denigrating others who are already "helping" (since employing someone is seen as "help" ![]() 3 Likes |

airsaylongcome: Some of you are unfortunate. You have no idea what the Fintech 'm recruiting for does or the career path it's offering, nor have idea on what it will cost the company to make these trainees full blown professional analyst. Worse is you don't even have idea what the employees will be doing in those 18months... I thought the word Start up would have made you some of you reason effectively, but ofcos you can't give what you don't have. 1 Like |

airsaylongcome:you mean this guy o lol. $1.50 is quite small but let's also consider the spending power and cost of living in Nigeria. You won't compare US with Nigeria in anyway. |
airsaylongcome: 10:56am On Sep 07, 2021 |
JesseJo: Lol! We condescending to insults now! This one pain you. The Fintech you are using to "help" people is slave labour. Make una stop all this rubbish of "start up" and "training" and "career path". Hogwash. You guys are looking for cheap labour. Which is fine by me. But do not deviate from my point. The "Start up" is paying <₦100k a month for a "trainee". That's paltry. Terribly so. By the time Tax, NHS and other deductions are done it won't be far away from the sums other employers are paying. Sums that you suggest are paltry. If you had just come and said you had an opening for a trainee for ₦100k I for waka . But to "pay-shame" other employers while offering the same pay? That's kettle calling pot... And oh, about the insult? Never forget to keep it classy irrespective of the opposition. 2 Likes |

Blastedholligan: I understand the Cost-of-Living argument. But paying less than 10% of what is obtainable in other markets? For exactly the same kind of work with the same expectations? Please! Even Rwandese in the same business get better paid per hour 1 Like |

JesseJo: Obvious you are pained. Take your non-paltry <₦100k per month "help" and run along. Shoo away |
Blastedholligan: 11:02am On Sep 07, 2021 |
airsaylongcome:Mate, I'm not not an advocate of mediocre pay either cos it's so demeaning and bad. But... The market is saturated with lots of graduates and the job market is too small to serve for them, hence why a recruiter would see that 100k/m is way out of doing some good and helping the person. It's so sad. |
airsaylongcome: 11:10am On Sep 07, 2021 |
Blastedholligan: It's terrible man. I have a "smallie" I was mentoring. Worked in IT for a small finance company. Was getting paid those funny figures. Got a remote job. His two weeks pay at his new role was equivalent to 7 months pay at his Finance Company job. To rephrase that, he earned in 2 weeks (while in training o!) what he would have earned in 7 months doing brain draining work, hopping in traffic, and generally being misused. |

kokoboy4life: To be honest, I don't know. A lot of people dive into programming, which takes time to learn and become competent at. The person I spoke about while above average as a programmer, had invested his time experimenting on a variety of IT stuff. He currently works as a Linux System (which still doesn't pay as much as Programming), but he was very vast. He researched different IT solutions as a hobby. School management solution? He could recommend at least three cost effective solutions for me.to evaluate. Learning Management System? He knew about 5 open source solutions to look at. Business Management Software aka ERP? He could mess around with at least 3. Telephony software? At the drop of a hat he told me of at least 4. All of these ran on Linux so in messing around with them, his Linux skills was being developed. Will this work for everyone? No. But it has worked for him 3 Likes |
