I hope you know that deleting from that group deletes the from your directory, not just from the group.

If you don't want to delete the , go to the Gmail via browser and remove the s from the group or delete them from the from the same page.

I'm on MIUI, my dialer/ UI differs from yours, so, can't help with dialer/ step by step info.

The thing is with Wifi you have little to no control over system apps behavior especially Google apps.

From security app see if you can turn it off from using data under WiFi.

Thanks, it finally stopped. After losing roughly 4gb, I assumed some other app was disguising behind the Google app, so I restricted WiFi for all apps. It has worked so far, and any app I need to use, I'll unrestrict. Eventually, I believe I'll find the real culprit and do the needful.

If you have Google photos installed, you may want to check the settings. You probably have autosync of your photos and videos when on WiFi.
