Please is your school Newcastle University?

Henrowalata:
pls Who know the covid 19 test center in Lagos that gives discount for students?

Is it okay for me to carry some provisions on my way to Uk?

Does anyone have the link to a day 2&8 text kit provider where I can pay with my nairacard and they will deliver to Newcastle?

Finally is it okay for me to go with just photocopies of my credentials?

@Justwise and all, I got this email from Pretoria this morning kindly educate me on what could have gone wrong in my Application.

I applied alone on 24th August while my dependent were to do their Application much later. The reason was because my POF had matured but theirs was deposited later. My initial deposit was #12,000,008, then #8,987,000.

I would be grateful to hear others contribution.

1.Did you submit bank statement of £17,635?

2. Did you explain in the form that your family will be applying at a later date?

Terrible is an understatement. The list we wrote this morning got torn by the tls official. Most of us that got there very early were not able to do walk in cus the crowd was crazy and people refused to form a single queue. The TLS official was hinting something about walk in will be reduced because some allegations were made against them to the embassy blah blah sha
In a simpler term: walk in is now survival of the strongest.

Goddys:
Please did anyone do walk in at Ikeja TLS today? What was the situation there like?

Flight don cost o, any affordable ones for September travellers or students discount anywhere?

For tickets in dollars e.g qatar airways, how do we pay at good rates or na still aboki?

You can pay in Naira into any of their s stated online. Hold your booking before proceeding to pay.

A converter is on their website for you to know the naira equivalent of what you are to pay. Pay the exact amount, don't even approximate.

Quote your PRN and phone number as payment remark and send receipt to [email protected] also using PNR and phone number as heading this time.

An e-ticket would be sent to you.

Those that used form A recently, what was the naira to pound rate charged?

573 naira per pound. Gtbank. For tuition balance payment.
Proppie: 7:08pm On Aug 30, 2021
Hi,

I heard that not all banks will give an individual FORM A to make any payments other than Tuition fees..
Please, how true is this?, and what banks wil allow one use FORM A to make other payments?

fificole:
you can use can still use FORM A for transfers/payments from your Nigerian while in the UK. Those being sponsored by family do not necessarily need to buy FX from the black market to send to you.

This is not marketing banks, but a cheaper alternative.

- Tuition fee balances (or installments as the case may be) : Paid directly to the school
a. Same documents used for tuition deposits

- Accommodation/maintenance : Paid directly to school/landlord/agent or your
a. Form A
b. ission letter
c. Accommodation bill for the month/quarter

I advise you get to know your officer (a knowledgeable one) or the Operations head in the branch
- Complete an email indemnity
- Request for a few forms (if they allow it)
- Get your internet banking setup and request a transaction token

This also works well for spouses that still have businesses running in Nigeria and get funding in naira.

Simply a suggestion.

Hello,

Who has tried using Western Union Global student pay for tuition/tuition deposit payment.

They give a payment reference that is supposed to expire 72hours after it was generated.

My issue is, after the reference was generated, I applied for form A the same day with it and the money was debited in my the following day(Friday) but Western union say they are yet to receive money after I tried tracking the payment and the payment reference expired on sunday.

I really wouldn't want a case where the money paid hangs. Can someone share their experience with payment through this route ?

Well, i generated an invoice too but when i saw a three day timeline and knowing nigerian banks would fail me, i instead used the tuition invoice supplied by my school.

If you have no invoice given, then you don't have to worry, your money would either be paid or refunded to you. The three day timeline is to allow for fluctuations in FX. A timeline more than that may result to their loss.

Don't worry. You will be fine. Keep tracking.

If your course is more than 12months (most courses are because they give extra 4-5months after the course date ends), you pay 705 pounds and the dollar equivalent I paid during my application was 1015$

Dear gurus please do banks issue out pounds debit card to pounds holders cos i went to my bank now and what they told is they can only issue out a dollar debit card and not pound. Thanks

I think you can only have access to dollar card. I haven't heard of pounds card. When you get the dollar card, you can fund it with dollars and make transactions with it. This means you can use it to pay for services in pounds, euro and most foreign currencies.

This is as far as i know.

Are you applying for undergraduate program. Mostly undergraduate program application goes through UCAS. If you are applying for postgraduate program, apply to the sch direct.

Good afternoon people of valor.

(a)Please I want to inquire the bank/banks that an can be opened with in Nigeria and still have access to the money in the UK?

(b) Can the money to be spent in the UK be converted to pounds before leaving Nigeria? If yes, what's the maximum amount allowed to be travelled with in cash?
Can the remaining amount be kept in the bank in pounds?

Thanks much for your anticipated reply.

A. Open a dorm acct with any bank of your choice. Get a dollar card, fund your with dollar or pounds. You can use your mastercard abroad to withdraw funds. Take note of withdrawal limit and charges on ATMs abroad.

B. You can reserve some money in your bank , you can also convert your naira to pounds before travelling. to declare the cash you have at hand. I think there is an amount you must declare. Read about money to declare on UKVI website.

I am having similar problems. I paid for my tuition balance at Gtbank kaduna. The bank rejected payment for accommodation. I wrote headquarters, they said it would work provided i am paying both alongside or have evidence of tuition payment previously. Lagos branch Ikeja rejected, Abuja branch rejected, Edo branch (one of them) rejected.

This may mean that a limitation has been placed. Black market my last option.

That's what i used. If you can input the value in dollars and you can select naira on the next tab, it should work. If it doesn't, try a new browser and use a laptop. Everyday before booking, the converter worked for me.
