I give glory to God because he is the one that did it because I blabbed at some point but I was able to recover. The importance of being adequately prepared cannot also be over emphasized but it is God that blesses hard work.

I'll give some backstory and a bit of my profile.
I started the process early this year, took the GRE and TOEFL exam. I tried to schedule an appointment in Lagos since June, waited as long as I could and switched to Abuja, early July. Got an emergency appointment date in Abuja which was eventually canceled after I had arrived Abuja and even paid for a hotel which was maddening. I came back, and after sending several mails my appointment was scheduled for the 16th of August. I eventually ed @nigpatriot a few days to my interview because I wanted to be as prepared as I could. While praying seriously as well. I think I gave equal time to prepping and praying.
I am a finance professional with over 3yrs experience and skill in auditing, ing and finance. I have a degree in ing and I am also a chartered ant.

I was interviewed by the white lady. She’s not trying to be funny or having any opinion or assuming things about you. I think she tries to give everyone a fair chance.

VO: I see you are going for a master's program in computer science
Me: Yes, I am
VO: What do you do?
Me: I work as an auditor at this company where I analyze the company’s financials and provide recommendations to management to aid decision making. I also carry out inventory data analysis to monitor inventory movement... cuts in...
VO: What will this course do for you?
Me: I will come back to Nigeria to take up a role in financial consulting. (This was where I goofed or thought I goofed because I had a wholesome answer to this question but it ran away at that point even after a lot of practice probably because I was a bit nervous.) I tried to back up the answer with: in the long run, I intend to start up a financial consulting firm that will use technology to carry out financial services.
VO: Why this school?
Me: I chose this school because they offer courses in data analytics technology and artificial intelligence which i'm interested in learning and this technology is changing the face of my industry. (I used simpler like this is how we do it now.)
Also, this school awarded me a tuition waiver, I was about to say something else then she cuts in:
VO: Who is sponsoring you?
Me: My dad will be sponsoring me
VO: What does he do?
Me: He owns a business that is into the supply of construction materials to some of the top construction companies here in Nigeria. I mentioned the companies

she said something about countries to avoid and other things I didn't quite get.

I was elated and I’m still very much thankful to God. I will continue to tell everyone about his goodness.

Don’t be discouraged...I graduated from high 2010. I was denied Visa twice before getting getting it this year...just be positive and strategise again...

My case is similar, my sponsor moved chunk of the money from their and the last statement I got was in June. My interview is next week. Is it still advisable to go with the statement issued 2months ago?

Also, the statement I have doesn't have any deposit except for an balance that would cover my tuition, do the inflow and outflow really matter here?

Lastly, everybody's dad seems to be a "real estate practitioner" please what's the chance of a corporate person being one's sponsor not to mention that the person is my cousin too?

Hey guys. I’m currently in the US on a J1 visa. I’m trying to adjust my status. I have to apply for a waiver with a “statement of no objection” from the Nigerian embassy here. One of the required documents I have to submit is “release letter from sponsor”.
I email my sponsor organization and their response is attached below.
Please who has any idea of what I can submit instead or how to go about this issue ?

I'm curious as to why you need to e-mail your sponsor organization. Don't you currently work with them? These kind of discussions are better had in person.

Try to explain to them that you're subject to INA212e and you're trying to get a home residency requirement waiver through the no-objection pathway.

I'm sure they should be able to help, as most J1 sponsors assist with waiver processing.

I applied for an Emergency Visa Interview for Abuja and the earliest possible date I got was for 26th of August 2021, meanwhile my school is resuming (lectures) on the 23rd of August. I ed the school and I was told I should still go for my Visa appointment provided I can be in the US in the first week of September and moreover the courses I will be taking this semester will be online. However, they are not willing to issue to me a clearance for late resumption.

My question is that, has anyone ever had a similar issue and how did it go at the embassy? Also, how were you able to defend your situation?

Please note that the delay period is just three days apart.

Print the email the school sent to you extending resumption till September. You can go with that to the Embassy and present it if asked. However, for the POE you'd need an official letter from the school extending your resumption, or they'd update your i20 to accommodate your late arrival.

Print that email conversation showing everything including the name of the person you are in with and go with it to the interview. if asked for prove present the conversation to them.

Berea college is test optional (it's not a must to take sat) and my score was almost the same as the Kenya girl's own when converted to us gpa and she got in without sat, and even if you don't take sat all itted students financial needs are met, and for the last time, I have decided to take sat (to assist my gpa), I ed this forum because I needed advice and different people's view on the issue, but most of the replies have been insulting, and seriously, can't some of you advice someone without insulting the person, so dear pls do your research and gain more knowledge before coming online to write what you feel like

Hello guys

My EA was approved on the 11th of August and the earliest date I could schedule was 24th of September but I was able to pick 7th of September before expiration of the EA. After my EA expired, I saw the prompt to apply for another EA but was denied some days after. My school resumes on the 26th of August but as a GA I have to resume on the 25th of August. I emailed the school for extension but I was told that my GA will be moved to another available student of I don't get there on the 25th of August. I can't see the EA prompt on my CGI page again. I don't know if I should defer to Spring but if I do, I will lose the assistantship and according to the program coord, no GA for Spring semester. Pls I need advice

Hello people, what is really happening? I've been applying for dates on the US portal for the past 3 months to no avail. My school resumes tommorow but I was given a month grace, is it because I have dependants with me? I'm tired of searching, I've used about 3 agents to no avail. I applied for emergency date, and it was denied. Nothing is wrong with my documents, I dont know why there are no dates available I'm sincerely frustrated. Please how can I be helped?
