1.as far as women drive these luxurious buses then yes they can drive trucks too. The difference is in the reverse mechanism 2. Minimum should be about 70k I presume because since I started driving I have always made averagely above that self monthly, in diaspora truck drivers earn lots and lots of money, if you can become a certified truck driver in the US for instance your money would start pursuing eternity ooo 3. I would advice go for those six/ten tire trucks and after perfecting them follow a truck head attached to a trailer to learn reverse. Hope this answers your questions

Lol, we have similar job role, I'm a jorney manager for an oil n gas company in Nigeria, managing more than 40 trucks. I didn't even know such job role existed until I got the job.
So far so good we have not recorded any accident for 2 months now.

But drivers can be dubious tho, it's not easy managing people, especially the older drivers wey be your papa age. U will tell them route to n maximum speed to drive they will get on the road n do something else very annoying.

I am fully based in lagos now. Since you are in benin anytime you have decided just stroll to a trailer park either along auchi road or agbor road and approach any driver to know the next steps. Good luck

Bro it's all about mindset, Lagos to jos to onitsha- Abuja then back to lag in two weeks and continue Lagos to Kano to Aba - ilorin then Lagos. You can make it in 3 if you have driving experience and you are the types that drive cars without fear, we have novice conductors that are doing well and driving empty trailers from kaduna to Lagos in 3 months and we still have Yahoo conductors that have been following trucks for 2 year's without knowing gear selector. o is all about mindset

My point is that three months is too small to be a professional driver, it's basically not about driving alone.

There are no hammering! it just driving trucks, but you are right, the driving conditions are better here. We use Tacograph and we must take break after 3 to 4 hours or 6 hours driving the Taco will indicate when breaks are due. We have bed, TV, airconditioner, heating and somewhere to hang cloths in our cabins. Sometimes it can be very cold, no rushing, once we deliver we drive home empty, we also stay in hotels sometimes (the company pays)

But this moment i am driving trains. Due some EU covid 19 restrictions on truck driving I am not vaccinated yet.

It easy but not easy, it is mainly to do with safety, pull the lever and follow the track lines on the computerised screen, some trains are driverless, so all needed to do is announce the stops with a speaker.


It requires a rigorous health and safety trainings that many have failed. I failed 7 times before ing and cost money, each time you fail you pay again to train.

how did you go about getting a job oversees. What are the procedures. And like how much is someone still situated in Nigeria is supposed to have saved to even have a chance. It's something I am really interested in when I have gotten the means. And you are just being polite if you insist there is no hammering.

Learning truck is the only apprenticeship scheme where by you even earn stipends while learning either from your Oga(driver you are following) or company ( some companies pay motor-boys too). Just endeavour to go to any trailer park around you and approach the driver of any vehicle that tickles your fancy. But I would always advice one learns with Mack trucks because ones you master Mack trucks there is no other truck you cant comfortably handle.

ones you can get into any company their salaries are usually between the range of 30k-50k except for the multinational like julius berger and their likes that offer higher salary.but as a truck driver your monthly take home must exceed 100k sha from accumulated trip bonuses to other incentives like dispatch etc. It's not everything that can be explained once.

I got my first driving licence when i was 17 years old, I started working in burger bars and supermarkets at 18. I am not sure how to explain. I was born and bred in east london England by nigerian parents (IGBO) i have always worked part time during school holidays. I believe you are going to need a visa and work permit for work

However, there are also nigerians and Ghanians i worked with as truckers and train drivers who have lived here for years. I am not sure how much you would need to relocate to Europe. If you already know someone in Europe it might help.

remove fear from your mind. Na common machine na! And also be very attentive at the smallest details. Look out for the reasons why brakes are applied,manouvering into corners etc. Don't worry it's a piece of cake

when you are reversing a small car, luxurious bus or even trucks that don't have a turn table(google for more info pls) it goes exactly where you gear the steering towards but in the case of a truck head with turn table hooked to a trailer it's opposite of where the steering is moved to.

ehn no wonder na. When I said hammering I was already calculating the pay converted to naira. Working for like just 3years and I would retire come back and open a multinational company oo. I want to work first and save money. But can't you serve as someone I know when the time comes? We where brought up and taught to fend for ourselves. I have one uncle in who was sponsored there by my dad. After I returned from turkey and he heard he was virtually laughing at me and my dad that he has always been telling us that travelling to abroad is not easy but I do see it common among siblings helping each other out. Na so the man matter tire me. I want to prove to him than anyone can choose his or her own destiny. I would surely land there by God's grace.

approach people and ask especially those touts after the bridge. I personally haven't worked in onitsha yet to know much about the place. But there is a construction company in awka that is currently handling the airport bring built. You can still stroll there and meet any of the drivers available
