Got to think of attending an interview as a night auditor in a 4 star hotel, I am currently an auditor in a firm, I thought that as the position implies, the job schedule will be an overnight one, which will not affect my present job( just to double my hustle).

Anyone with experience of what the job entails, the pros and cons in Nigerian hospitality industry. Thanks

It is just like a night security ,the only difference is that you are an educated security I will advices you focus more on developing your career rather than doing this night shift .the audit in hospitality is far different from others .it is more like a witch-hunting game because your main work is to reduce people's salary of those that make mistakes .

Your job will be more of providing internal control, monitor use of resources and sales, establish standard operating procedures (SOP) and ensure its compliance, provide authorisation and vetting of transactions. Keep oversight on POS devices and other payments documents

To the OP, As a Night auditor of an Hotel you must be conversant with the PMS and POS used in all the outlet...

Be very observant because half of Hospitality workers are very dubious and might want to rubbish your integrity.

You will be hated so be very wary of food and Women..

It's a very important job and someone has to do it. Besides every job experience is part of building and developing your career

Aside from balancing the books, your job entails a lot of monitorin and communication. Which means you can only be at one place at the time. Usually, technology would have made your work easier.

Electronic key cards for each room would make your job a lot more easier.

That job entails making sure that people do not circumvent internal controls that have been put in place by the management of the hotel.

Just be aware that due to the dubious nature of most Nigerians who are always on the lookout for ways to steal from their employer you will be hated by your colleagues for blocking loopholes in the system

While doing this job you need to be extremely careful about what you will eat or drink while in that environment

It's really beats me how some companies look for ways not to pay full salaries. Is it that they cannot afford to pay what they agreed? Or they are just looking for ways to make extra cash off staff.
