How Much Salary Is Enough For Good Living In Nigeria (43525 Views)

donlet(m): 4:18pm On Jul 18, 2021 |
Just wondering how much is required for one to have a good life in Nigeria. Why most of our youths are migrating abroad is because of the unfair advantage of being paid more even doing odd jobs abroad. So how much can one earn in Nigeria as a salary to be comfortable? Also I know this might be location dependent. As people living in lagos, porthacourt and Abuja might have more living expenses. Also what are other ways to earn if the salaries of available jobs are not enough? Let's share ideas 8 Likes |

Things are getting worse everyday in Nigeria and high salary is not the solution. If Nigeria becomes habitable, an average salary can sustain. 116 Likes 10 Shares |

Standard of living is getting f@cked up by the day so really nothing is sustainable. What I suggest is getting a good standard salary alongside a savings of about #3M to fall on should that source of salary cut short. While you also try setting up some side hustle most especially. Las las We go dy alright. 21 Likes 3 Shares |

Same amount one can buy a matured cow.... ![]() APC Government is paying 30k minimum but they earn in millions ...and his allowance can transform a local government area and it's entire population. Meanwhile price of a bag of rice is far above 30k.......cracy country.. 45 Likes 6 Shares |

Your standard of living depends on your location and how you budget your income. For an average Nigerian, I believe anything from 200k and above should be enough.

Let's assume Lagos is Nigeria, I think with 150k monthly, you are good to go as a single man/woman. It's a different issue entirely if you're married.

Depending in so many factors, you maybe able to live with 100k and above. Below are some of the factors. 1) Are single or married? If married is your partner working? 2) How far is your place of work from your home? 3)What's your definition of "comfortable"? Because that matters a lot. 42 Likes 2 Shares |

I'm on 250,000 NGN/month and we are still struggling. Food, house rent, children school fees, light bill, water bill, car servicing, generator and car fueling, parents in the village, security (vigilante) fees, my own school fees, too many bills jare. Although, it became worse between 2016 till date. Prices of everything have gone up almost 1000%. It is unfair. 169 Likes 5 Shares |

It depends on the state you are in... In Lagos, Abuja, PH and some high cost states, #500k is ok. Then in other low cost states, 250-300k is ok.
