DIY fresh and renewal , Just write a letter (2 paragraph) applying for International port.

As regards the certificate if origin/residence, can i visit any local government and get it ? The man i met at the local government has charging me 5k for it is that fair price ?

Please I'm at very confused. I have my surname, and two of names in all my documents. Now that I'm married, my husband wants to replace my surname with his in my international port. Truthfully, I do not want to part with my surname. Please can I yank off my middle name then add his surname? I'm willing to do the affidavit and also news paper publication. But I am scared , dont no if removing my middle name will pose any issue for me in the future, because I plan going for my Masters next year (oversea). Please advice

It won't .Whatever name you decide to bear so far you have document backing it is not a problem.

I got ission,I am married, about processing my visa ,I didn't change my name and I intend travelling with hubby.We have our marriage certificate showing our different names and we are good.

Pls I mailed NIS servicom today because of the opportunity not getting my port nextweek might cost me, I got a reply that I should forward the name of the officer helping me and his phone number and also my details.

Just skeptical about the whole issue ,wont this cost the officer his job?

Google ur state origin liaison office in the state u currently reside now for example "Ogun state liaison office address in Lagos"...I did mine for 2k here in there Lagos office..

I finally submitted my application form to be vetted at Alausa Ikeja today...Those of you who is going there should get his guarantor form stamped and sign at Ikeja...don't forget to fixed d guarantor port photograph to d form to be stamped too...I did a mistake of not fixing it to be stamped ...they have to send me back to stamped it with d form..Also,guarantor NIN was not collected and attached wit my file.they return it to me.they only collect the stamped guarantor form and photocopy of his port data..I was told I will be notified to come for biometric capturing once my application is successful after it has been vetted.thanks

when? The option is still there when applying. Why should NIS close a centre and the option is there in the website?

Maybe it's a recent development, when I was applying last week it was there. I selected Maitama in my first application, I was about paying when I changed my mind because of the extra 30k and the port for me is not urgent.

You don't need guarantor form for renewal. Just go there with the required documents as listed earlier here. All your printouts. Data page and last page of your port, ur NIN

When did u apply, or how long do they give from time applied to date of capture.

Went to submit my wife's file and mine (DIY). Hers (renewal and change of name due to marriage) was rejected on the basis of not having my bio-data page of my port despite me attaching my NIN, driver's license, marriage cert, affidavit, application letter for change of name due to marriage, consent letter and explaining that I just applied for a fresh port and never had one before.
Made enquiries in NIS from 2 different states and they confirmed to me that it will be accepted in their respective command if I submitted it.

Am a bit confused currently..
