I think they removed the option on Android 10, but I don't know, want to confirm
Coz I know that on g7 and v40 you can't switch to wide angle camera while recording even in auto mode, of which they brought back the feature in g8 & v50, but I don't know if you can switch in manual video mode while recording on the g8 & others on Android 9 & 10.

This is coming a bit late. I just tried this on my LG V60 with stock camera. It's running Android 11 and it's possible. I was able to switch between Wide and normal while video recording. On my phone, I no longer have the icon for wide angle, but I can zoom in or out using pinch from x0.5(wide angle) to x10.

My wife uses LG G8 running on Android 10. I will check her phone when she is home to see if the feature works.

Good to know someone's wife uses LG like my wife does too lol

My wife has always been a fan of LG, then got carried away by the Samsung hype/marketing. She just returned to LG about 2 months ago.

Using headphones for audio, the G8 has a better sound quality and sharper screen c/w the the 3D facial recognition..
