Why is Nigeria processing time different from all these countries. Kenya and Ghana is even faster. We need help!!! Kenya, Ghana, India (7 weeks processing time as at March 23rd) while Nigeria is 52 weeks.

My files was transferred from Canadian VAC Abuja to Nairobi Kenya VAC maybe to fast track the work permit processing am on 29 weeks against 18 weeks timeline. Last webform response was processing is under “Active Review “. MPNP with valid job offer. |

Dameelee: To be eligible to apply for SOWP for your spouse, you have to be working in either Noc A, O or B and have at least 6 months left on your work permit. You also need a ref letter from your employer & 3 payslips. So let’s assume you will get the required job soon after you get your work permit; you will have to work for about 2 months to get the 3 payslips. Take away 2 months from 1 year, you have 10months left on your work permit. Who knows how long it’s gonna take ircc to process your application. If by the time they make a decision on your file & you have less than six on your WP, your application would be refused. So if you have one year work permit and you aren’t 100% sure you will get a job in noc O, A or B immediately after you graduate, you are putting yourself in tight situation. You can not apply for your spouse now because you guys aren’t married yet. If you aren’t sure of getting the required job soon after graduation, I would suggest you extend your study permit & apply sowp for ur spouse as a student. I am 28 years old and I currently applied to a few colleges in canada for a post graduate certificate program. I know I would get a good response soon. It's a one year program, but my questions would be numbered below. 1. I am in the process of getting married, bride price fully paid. We plan to take things slow though, so I don't know if I should apply as a married woman or not. I am thinking of ways he can me in canada. 2. Is this possible with a post graduate certificate? 3. Good morning guy am somehow new here although i have been on the student study permit trend since part 15. my study permit was granted last month and i have my visa with me differed my ission for a PhD to fall 2021 after i start classes for winter initially. Now i want to apply for a SOWP for my spouse and VV for my two kids since they are under 5years to come along with me. Can i apply for her now? or i must get to canada before i do that? my spouse will use her job as home ties as we already applied for one year leave of absence is this feassible? as per the Proof of Funds shud it be in her or in mine? presently i have 6m naira in mine and 1m in hers and i also have a graduate research assistant offer of 18k cad per year (10k from supervisor and 8k from dept) please advise accordingly. 1 Like |

skull4eva: Congratulations on ur study permit approval Since u did not apply with them you should be able to do that since it was PhD and it is likely you have grant or scholarship Anyway I think you have to be in Canada to apply for them because some of the documents you need to attach ( study permit) to there application will be issued at the point of entrance. |

Wow!!! I'm finally here, I've been dreaming of his day, thank God for this upgrade from STUDENT Visa application thread to this one. Yipeeeeeeee!!!  I appreciate all those that have been keeping this thread alive, thank you, thank you. I got my PPR yesterday and I intend to travel anytime soon, get my study permit and other necessary docs to apply for my SOWP, and then return to Nigeria as my classes is online for this term. Please gurus, is this a wise decision? Thank you in advance for your help

Congratulations madam, yesterday was ur day of celebration....many more of that U need ur work permit to apply and that can only be issued at the point of entrance Since ur class is online would u be allowed in for the work permit to be issued yet? Honestly I don't know that dynamics But if it is possible that might be good so you can apply on time due to dis crazy processing time of 52 weeks One thing am sure of is that it would soon go back to the usual 13 weeks because last month Ghana had that crazy processing time of 45 weeks and it just drop to 7 weeks all of a sudden and it has been stable since then Just work around anything that would enable you apply as soon as possible |
