Subscribed. They show mediocre movies. None is ever full movie. Very hard to navigate. Nigerians in diaspora were using that streaming site but they are so lax to effect new changes and move with the train. Most times, you can't even watch what they claim they have. And they have so little to chose from. So annoying I ended it before the end of one month.
Customer care is zero.
I when diasporians were complaining bitterly about their customer care here. One female name in particular.

They started and thought they have monopoly and did the Nigerian thing. Customers flee. I went back to them again but it was worst. They destroyed themselves. Also, they should have promoted their platform on social media very well.
Although I saw them on youtube, their promotion was archaic. They will show you advert and tell you to them. Phew. Who does that now especially when you are looking for customers. Besides,Nigerian movies are enjoyed by Africans a lot.

Thanks for this . That's why it's good to always hear from multiple sides before concluding.

Gentle reminder that those numbers you see on Piggyvest or any bank for that matter are.....just numbers that someone or a computer input to make it look like your money is sitting pretty somewhere all the time. The reality is a little different. The actual (or real) money has gone into different investments across Nigeria and across the world; and these are investment decisions made by someone somwhere who thinks he knows better than average people. Also, some of that money has gone into private pockets and used to buy houses in London and Dubai, because (what do you know) most people aren't going to wake up one day and want to just withdraw all their money at once. Some of that money has been badly invested and generating negative returns, but of course, you the investor is never told that. Instead, they just punch more numbers into your to look like you are making money.

The whole thing falls apart when shit hits the fan and people now need their money. Piggyvest in particular is an investment platform I can never trust. One, they have track records of making bad investment choices (e.g. Agropartnerships, Farmcrowdy, etc.) which is a sad reflection of their due dilligence team, and they do not open their books to their so-called customers so that the customers know exactly what is being done with their money. They also have a track record of denying when their nyash is opened in public, e.g. with the dude from that church that they may have invested money with. They also often promise unreasonable returns that don't reflect the reality of the Nigerian economy, e.g. over 25%. And more importantly, while NDIC itself says very clearly on its instagram that piggyvest is not NDIC insured, Piggyvest on their own website claims that they are NDIC insured. The duplicity! They are also no bank, just a savings platform. But what do I know? Good luck to you all who will put your money is any hole you see on the internet, as long as some returns are flowing in. What you learnt with the fall of Agropartnerships and co, you will soon learn again with Piggyvest. And when it happens, I'll be here laughing at your foolery...because you have been warned!

You are comparing 2 differnt things. Piggyvest is not a Ponzi scheme. They don't promise ridiculous ROIs.

Really I was shock and surprised oh.

Have you raise chickens before? If yes what time kg did you archive

Yes. The result you get varies depending on the following;
1.) Quality of feed
2.) Quantity of feed serve and regimen. I.e do they eat adlib (all day long) or not.
3.) Health status.
If your flock Are maintained properly and dont spend time treating infection, you will get them to a good weight on time.

So to answer your 1 question. I bred broilers mainly for Christmas back then. 8 weeks 3.5 to 4kg averagely. That was over 10years ago.

Let's calm down and take a critical look at the issue at hand. And highlight the facts.

Facts:
1.) Salary of workers in Nigeria is relatively average to poor.
Very TRUE.
This cut across every profession in the country. From lecturers to Medical Doctors to street sweepers etc. Pay is relatively meagre.

2.) The goverment is badly ran, and can do better.

Very TRUE.

The Nigerian government has performed poorly in their responsibility of creating a better standard of living for the average Nigerian.

Now let's analyse the issue critically. Nigeria is a developing country with it's problems which the masses has been managing for years.
Let's picture Nigeria as a Old voxwagon car. All it's part are important for it to run well. Now let's imagine the Doctors to be the "bulb" of the full light of the old voxwagon car.

Now let's imagine the developed countries to be a brand new Toyota Camry. With his own full parts too. But which now desires to have more bulb for it's full light so that they can have more lights.
(I.e the developed countries want more Doctors)

Will it make sense to remove the bulbs from the old voxwagon car (a developing country with it's problms already) and add it to the ones of the Toyota Camry so that they can shine better?

I am sure you know the answer to that.

Nigeria might never be able compete salary wise with developed countries. This is most likely NEVER going to happen. A Doctor can comfortably earn $4k in a month in the USA. That is over 6.4million naira. Do you think any hospital In Nigeria can pay such to it's Doctors?

Let's even leave goverment hospitals(who pay more already), if a private hospital pay even half of that to a Doctor, how much do you think they will charge you to treat Malaria?
Definately millions.

We have to analyse things critically before we start comparing salaries In Nigeria with that of developed countries.

Yes salaries are poor presently, and can be better. But don't forget that if the bulb is removed, the entire Car suffers. It is the masses that will suffer. The entire masses are already struggling with the poor pay and poor conditions. Should healthcare depreciate to zero due to flight of Doctors, what will he left will be double calamity for the ailing masses.

The developed countries are luring your Doctors away with high pay. A Pay no goevrmnt will ever be able to pay. If nothing is done to stem the tide of outflow, a big calamity is inevitable.

Note, I am not here to the govermnt. They are the root cause of all these problems.

But the car must not be left to suffer beyond what it is suffering already.

Every part of the old car must be maintained and managed to fulfil their roles, so that the car can still continue to run at it's own pace.

I used to think like you until I got married to a medic.
My wife is a medical student and what those doctors quoted is actually correct. It's extremely expensive to become a medical doctor in Nigeria. I'm sure I've spent upwards of 3M just this year, and this is aside the ones she paid on her own. Some schools are even more expensive than this.

If you don't mind me asking, Which university?
Porksupplyib: 3:45pm On Apr 22
To those of us who believes we Doctors don't owe anyone anything, and Doctors should be allowed to fly out of the country for better pay, my prayer for you all is that, MAY YOU NOT KNOW THE GRAVITY OF THE PROBLEM ON GROUND. Amen

It is when either you or your loved ones fall sick that you will know exactly the issue on ground. All your Doctors are almost out of the country. The few that remains will soon be out. They are only trying to raise the needed money and the needed exams. give or take, in the next 10years, the full effect will be a crises (it already is)
Then, we will have this discussion again.

Mind you, those in goevrmnt will not be affected. It is the poor man living in the country, who can't afford to fly out for medical care that will end up dying in numbers.

I stopped reading when NARD said it costs about $21,000 to $51,000 to train a doctor in Nigeria. Both NARD and the publisher of that studies they got their report from are on drugs.

I graduated as a doctor in a federal university in Nigeria and i didn't spend more than 1 million throughout my stay in school.

Every other thing they said maybe correct, but saying it takes 33 million naira to 81 million naira to train a doctor in Nigeria is a lie from the pit of hell

grin God bless you Doc

Maitunbi:

First you should have noted that the referenced research was done in 2021 before doing your calculation. Exchange rate has changed drastically obviously.

Secondly, how do you insist someone owes his country for training him when the said country didn't train him for free? Is that logical to you?

Firstly, addressing the issue of date and exchange rates, Let's calmly analyse this. If the research was done in 2021 and it wrote $21,000-$51,000, we can easily conclude that if the research is done in 2025 it would be much higher than that.
Agreed?

Now let's address the second issue you brought up.
"How do we insist a trained individual owes his country when he was not trained for free?"

Very good question, I must say.

Yes it is true that students didn't get trained for free. But it is also true that it is heavily subsidized.
As a Vet Doctor, my training costed the University/govermnt more than x40 what I paid for. Should I have gotten trained in a developed country.

Today, I have training and skill which can rival Vets in other countries. And with some few trainings, brushing up and examination, I would qualify to practice anywhere in the world.

If i now decide to leave the country while my country lacks doctors just because I will get paid better in another country, It will be unpatriotic of me.

Note, I am not saying Doctors shouldn't be allowed to leave, but they should serve the country and the people for some years.
Tax payers money paid part of that training.

They spend more than that. Their textbooks are not cheap, first of all. Secondly, becoming a doctor does not end after six years. There are further paid exams they have to write as resident doctors before they become certified and also before they become consultants.

It's not a piece of cake as we are all looking at it from outside their profession.

Smiles.
I am in the medical field. No one spends $21,000 becoming a Medical doctor in Nigeria.

$21000 to train a doctor in Nigeria?
Let us use NGR500 as exchange rate, that is around 10 million naira.

I dare say that the NMA is lying.
U dey mind Dem. They are liars.

Even if they aren't lying, they just confirmed it that they owe their training and certificate to the Nigerian govermnt. Cus they didn't spend up to 5m to get trained.

If I were in the government shoes, No one leaves, until after serving for 10years minimum.
Porksupplyib: 2:28pm On Apr 22
Well, this is not to Pastor Poju, but no one spends $21,000 to $50,000 becoming a medical Doctor in Nigeria. That is between 30m and 80m!

If that is the real worth, then it simply means it is heavily subsidized by the government.

Tuition fee in all public universities in Nigeria is not yet up to N1m per Academic session. University of Ibadan is not even yet up to 500k.

Medical students use 6 academic session in school. This means averagely, no student spends up to N5m (including miscellaneous)

Yes, it is true that Medical doctors in Nigeria deserve better pay, but so also does the street sweeper, and every other profession in the country. Everyone deserves better pay for their services.

Do u know how much a street sweeper get paid in developed countries? It is over x30 what they earn here. Exactly the same scenerio. The only difference is that one profession is more skilled and sort after in the globe than the other.
But you must not forget you owe your country for training you.

I don't blame the medics for jumping out of the country, I only blame the govermnt who are irresponsible thieves, thus they don't even have the mouth to say and do what they ought to do.

Nigeria is a poor country. So doctors shouldn't expect humongous salaries simply because they are doctors. They will be paid according to what the market can afford. However, they are lucky medicine has global mobility and our official language is English. But this belief that certain professions which cater solely to the Nigerian market should be highly paid is misplaced.

As for nursing, it has never been a lucrative career in most of parts of the world.

Thank you for saying it as it is. Well, it's the govermnt I blame. Why will you train Doctors at your poor country rate and watch them leave in droves because other countries pay higher due to their rich country rate?

Yes doctors should receive better pay, but so also should every other individual in other careers in this country.

The goverment are only showing their irresponsibility at both ends. And in the end the masses are the ones to suffer, since they (the Politicians) always jet out for medical care at the slightest opportunity.
