I'd like to know the rate of progression after one must have gotten in through the Young Engineers Programme. After how many years before one gets promoted? What's the salary like and increments too?

I don’t know if things have changed now. But You start as a YEP trainee for a year, then you become an Operations and Maintenance Officer (OMO) for close to two years max then you become an operations and maintenance supervisor (OMS). So in 3 years you should be at a supervisory level.

Pay increase might not be too significant. I say this relatively. But let’s say like >50k increase as you grow (don’t quote me on this as I am not 100% sure about the pay as you get promoted.)

In my own opinion, you shouldn't bother yourself. These VOs know more about NYSC than you think. They already know it's not a part time thing. As long as the letter carries the number of hours worked per day/week in addition to other things specified on IRCC site, it should be good enough.

Good evening guys. Please I am trying to use my NYSC as work experience to gain foreign work experience points.

Now the work reference letter I got did not state that I was a “permanent full time employee”. Instead it states that I served as a “Youth Corper under the Nigeria’s National Youth Service Corp Program”

The letter contains other details such as the duration of my experience (years and dates), Job Title, Job function matching the NOC, annual salary, signature and date, and it was written on a letter headed paper (though this is in black and white)

Now would the absence of the phrase “permanent full time employee” cause any problem. Cause a friend off mine is insisting that the letter must state that I worked as a permanent full time employee.


Please I really need help on this.

I work as an Oil Trading Operator in the downstream Petroleum sector. So i do some data analysts work.

I have mentioned earlier that I don't go looking for information. I still won't.

No one here can come out and state categorically when anything will happen concerning APL or TF. And that's cos the actual actions taken on those lie in the hands of only a few people and those people won't even say.

Every info I have shared here is based on what I was told. Because this thread was created to enable applicants and hopefuls share info that give one or two pointers to events as they happen, I decided to give the ones I heard. If you want to use that as your integrity meter, then it's absolutely your choice.

One truth however is there's nothing anyone says that that is cast in stone as long as you're not the GMD of NNPC or the Chair of this recruitment campaign.

Sound funny though, but the sad truth is some people here don't want to hear the word APL, it spoil there day. Not everyone here went for the interview, others stop at apt test stage, People we call our friends don't even want us to get this Nnpc job, because of envy, the feel we will be ahead of them...
I a friend that told me to my face, when he heard i went for interview that, forget about Nnpc the have there list already, I laugh and it thought me a lesson that not everyone around me is happy of my success..
That's by the way, my uncle is not the HR boss, Nor the GMD, but a senior staff at Tower, I sound sure last week bc i know his position. The week haven't finish yet but i have chart him already, "if anything can still happen this week", I will screenshot our chat here everyone will see, and does that don't want to hear APL should go and die...

The gist of APL coming this week was actually corroborated by other sources. This I can confirm personally.

But then things don’t always go as planned. The week is almost over, and I personally don’t think this week is feasible again. I secretly hope to be surprised, to be honest.

Anyways, let’s all chill a bit and focus our energies on our plan B’s and C’s, cause the truth is 90% of us won’t still get this APL (connection or no connection).

The only thing that is 100% certain is that the recruitment is neither suspended nor cancelled.

Let’s Hope for the best but prepare for the worst.
